The boat day trips to the islands are great for snorkeling and sightseeing. However, if you just stay at Koh Phi Phi, the island is overcrowded, dirty, and full of boats at the beach. They assigned a small space for tourists to go in the water because the boats take over the bay. Locals and some tourists throw trash on the ground and in the ocean. There's almost no trash cans. My family and some other tourists would clean the trash from the ocean every morning. The sewer runs open through one side of the town, the busy side, and the smell is the worst thing I ever smelled.

Soft powdery sand, clear waters but very crowded beach. It is one of the biggest islands in Phuket/Krabi. One can also stay at the hotels on the beach to enjoy the night life on the island.

This place is an absolute must visit for anyone passing through Thailand. We visited it as part of a private tour we took (P.S this is where the Maya Bay is!!)

The whole area is way too crowded with boats and other snorkelers. There were so many long tail boats with spinning propellers I was concerned someone would get hit by a prop. Koh phi phi Don was so crowded the boats couldn’t stay at the docking area because other boats needed the space. At the last island we stopped at boats were so tightly packed that personnel had to push boats apart so ours could squeeze in.

Koh Tao and Ao Nang are much less crowded and the snorkeling is much better.

I won’t be back.

After visiting this island there is nothing bad I can say if I tried , it’s definitely ticked all the box’s for us without a doubt a very beautiful place and something for everyone . We travelled across from pukhet in the ferry for a reasonable price and did 2 days on the island before heading to krabi , the long boat rides are amazing all good prices and our skipper were brilliant made our 5 hour trip really fun and enjoyable . The restaurants and nightlife are good there really is something for everyone to do and the locals all make you feel welcome and part of the island I will be going again and would recommend this to anyone as a must do .thank you phi phi you’ve definitely given me happy memories

This Island, is not autentic. It’s build on Business and not people who Enjoy there work/life. If you need to go to the toilet, and are not at you’re hotel/hostel. You will have to pay. If you want to explore the ocean, you have to pay, for a boatride to another Island. Because Phi phi Island is full of boats waithing for «Tourist» to pay them. There are some plantbased options. But all in all not recommended to anyone who is a traveler, not worth the money.

Really hope the mentailty of this Island changes. For the better of the future «Phi Phi Islands» it used to be royal and lovely.

Until man made.

The Phi Phi Islands are still very beautiful, especially Maya Beach - now reopened for tourist after being closed for a few years. No swimming allowed but it's still got the stunning views, soft powdery sands, clear waters with all that beautiful shades of blue and green

Chaos and totally overcrowded, well the view of the bay is nice, but you will cross the island in a long queue, and are not allowed to swim. Toilet conditions are horrible, even though you for all tours must pay an additional entrance fee of 400 THB.
Recommend to visit other islands e.g. Koh Poda as part of a 4 island day tour.
