It’s indeed a Long Beach. We walked there for 4km. It would be too hot under the sun, but walking there after 5pm was pleasant. Plenty restaurants and bars for you to stop by. The beach was clean and full of hermit crabs. You can rent kayaks or SUPs from nearby hotels, but recommend to do so in early mornings when sea is relatively flat. Good for family visit. But if you want to come for souvenirs, this is not the place.

There can’t be many better ways of building up and appetite than a good walk (or run) along the full length of Long Beach. Although busier than on our last visit, it certainly wasn’t crowded first thing the morning but what a way to start the day!
Most of the time, the only sound is the sea lapping onto the sands and the beach, in most parts was litter free.
A delightful beach.

Amazing sunset views here after exploring the island by scooter! There are cafes along the beach with hammocks, beds, and chairs to relax in with a Thai tea. Great view of the sunset and perfect place for golden hour pictures :)

I walked the length of long beach. I was on my own less one other in the far distance. Absent tourists, businesses are empty and abandoned. The beach has experienced a buildup of rubbish as no one keeps it clean.
Strange to see, but a sight replicated across the coasts of Thailand.
Very pleasant scenery and a nice walk.

Long Beach is glorious! Several kilometres of golden sands perfect for that pre breakfast run breathing in the sea air and working up an appetite for a hearty breakfast. The only rocks are at either end of the beach and, when we were there, there wasn't much of a problem with litter other than what was washed in with the tide.
Because of the entry restrictions into Thailand when we visited Koh Lanta, it was very quiet with a number of businesses either closed permanently or temporarily.
In the evening, you can witness breathtaking sunsets form Long Beach.
Well worth exploring.

We visited Ko Lanta a few days before Xmas, 2020. The place was deserted and most businesses were closed. The sad part is that since there are no tourists, no maintenance is being done. Empty and untidy. If you would like to visit wait until tourist numbers are back.

Supposedly around 4kms long I walked from end to end. Clean, refreshing water. You can go for a swim just about anywhere along the whole beach. I enjoyed all the beaches I visited on Koh Lanta.

As the name suggests, this is a long beach which provides plenty of suitable places to watch the sunset!
There are many hotels, resorts and guest houses scattered along the beach,a. With a price to suit your budget.
Close to Lanta main town of Saladan, Long Beach provides a good base from which to explore lovely Lanta

My friend and I visited long beach for dinner, it was quiet...there were lights everywhere and the sound of water was so peaceful. We went off season, it was quiet but we loved it...places were open and the locals were just enjoying themselves. The food was good, there is a line of restaurants that has a beach side view. Make sure nothing but your hair flies here, the breeze is relaxing though. I am not gonna lie, it is creepy getting here. Don't turn back, finish at a reasonable time. It is deemed safe and make sure you finish up and head over to cannabis bar after! That place is surrounded my other tourists and backpackers, they have wifi, amazing prices for drinks. Not to mention, amazing staff too :) The guys here work as brothers, they have a cute treehouse at the top and wellll the name suits the place ;) You can party late here and take a cab safely back. Ladies... do not try to walk far without a man, be safe and get a cab. Overall, Koh Lanta feels like another world but it is beautiful in that corner of the world. Ou if you can, find the guy that makes the wraps and smoothies outside the variety store. He has benches to sit there and omg the wraps are delicious and cheap!

Somewhere else was easily our favourite. Not in the least bit posh but amazing food and the tamarind prawns were the best dish we had on holiday.
Hi,
How long would you say it takes to walk the length of the beach if staying towards the south end?

Hello. I'm visiting Koh Lanta later this year. I'm looking for a nice beach with hopefully no rocks in the sea. Can anyone tell me which beach has fewer rocks, Long Beach or Relax Bay. Many Thanks.

Long beach is actually quite long and the sunset was awesome. It is a wide stretch of beach with no rocks.

Ask a local dive shop they will be tapped into everything recent in the water. I was recommended Hidden Depths and loved them.

HI - due to arrive next week and tried to book some trips to koh rok and phiphi. Seems that most of operators are closed from may to oct. hadn't realised when booked and quite disappointed. do some operators still run if the weather looks good on a particular day? Trust me to book in the monsoon season. Is the weather likely to be really bad? Thanks Suzanne

We've been in May before and got warned of the same issues but experienced non of them! it rained for an hour a day, which to be honest was a welcome relief from the high temps. We got everywhere we wanted to. We are going in May this year too and are just going to book as we go rather than in advance. This was you can check boats are running and get some great last minute deals on hotels(which are already mega cheap anyway at this time!).

Sorry for making you wait so long. Did not see your question.
Long beach is in Koh Lanta which is a view hours by boat away from Krabi... not just around the corner...
