This is a nice beach, quite long in duration like its name suggests. There are plenty of bars and restaurants along the beach as well as cafes and open-air massage places.
You can easily spend a few days on the beach, bouncing around between different establishments to dine and drink.
The weather is hot, the sky is blue, and you can see the nearby islands.

In low season (July), very quiet with at busiest time perhaps 30 people at about 1.6 km beach. Lovely temperature seawater. Regularly nice high waves to jump in.. on the beach next to Casuarina Resort simple "terrace" which looks rather dilapidated but with great food for very little money and also nice cocktails. And very sweet service

Our hotel was on this beach so we spent loads of time there. It is fairly basic in terms of facilities but more than makes up for that with its beauty. Soft white sand and a gentle sea, make it very picturesque, especially at sunset.
At this time, you can get a nice cold beer at one of the many bars along the front and sit in silence as nature take its course beautifully.
We used it as exercise as well. Make sure you are covered in suncream and it will take you about half an hour to walk from one end to the other whilst taking in magnificent views.

It’s indeed a Long Beach. We walked there for 4km. It would be too hot under the sun, but walking there after 5pm was pleasant. Plenty restaurants and bars for you to stop by. The beach was clean and full of hermit crabs. You can rent kayaks or SUPs from nearby hotels, but recommend to do so in early mornings when sea is relatively flat. Good for family visit. But if you want to come for souvenirs, this is not the place.

We stayed in the middle of Long Beach at Pappilon Bungalows. The beach is super and great for all ages. There are lots of bars and restaurants offering shade/drinks/food. We just wandered down the beach every day and tried a different restaurant. At Lyms on a Friday night we enjoyed the fire show,we sat on the beach,I drank a cocktail and hubby had a chang.
For January it was still quiet, the sea warm and inviting and great for toddlers too.
Enjoy the sunset on the beach with lots of others but never crowded (when we were there).
Might be a good idea to take a beach mat if u prefer not laying on a towel.

There can’t be many better ways of building up and appetite than a good walk (or run) along the full length of Long Beach. Although busier than on our last visit, it certainly wasn’t crowded first thing the morning but what a way to start the day!
Most of the time, the only sound is the sea lapping onto the sands and the beach, in most parts was litter free.
A delightful beach.

The sunsets are gorgeous but unfortunately the beach itself is full of trash as are most other beaches we visited on koh Lanta. Some parts near hotels are cleaned up but mostly it is not a pretty sight. There are also many places that look abandoned.

A great beach with an unobstructed view to the west. This is good for beautiful sunsets, but after 2 p.m. there is no shade. There are numerous bars that offer food and drink at reasonable prices. There are a few resorts right next door. A big plus is that there are practically no motorboats here.

Great beach!
Lovely clean beach with shallow access to swimming for a long way out.
There are no sun beds allowed on the beach which keeps it virtually unspoiled.
There are a few great bars and restaurants along the beach but not too many.

Approximately 4km of golden sands washed by the waves of the Andaman sea and often in the evenings a place from which to witness incredible sunsets. A pre breakfast brisk walk before the heat increases is a good way to start the day and to work up an appetite!
There is one inevitable draw back and that is rubbish being washed in by the tide. Parts of the beach near resorts are kept clean with regular collections of mainly discarded fishing equipment. People are not excused either and we have seen on several occasions people leaving empty bottles etc on the beach rather than disposing of them properly.
Despite the litter problem, it’s a great beach.

Somewhere else was easily our favourite. Not in the least bit posh but amazing food and the tamarind prawns were the best dish we had on holiday.

Hi,
How long would you say it takes to walk the length of the beach if staying towards the south end?
Written July 29, 2019
15 mins? You would have to run. Give yourself a lovely 30 mins to enjoy

Hello. I'm visiting Koh Lanta later this year. I'm looking for a nice beach with hopefully no rocks in the sea. Can anyone tell me which beach has fewer rocks, Long Beach or Relax Bay. Many Thanks.
Written July 20, 2019
Long beach is actually quite long and the sunset was awesome. It is a wide stretch of beach with no rocks.

Ask a local dive shop they will be tapped into everything recent in the water. I was recommended Hidden Depths and loved them.

Bonjour, pourriez vous me dire si le soir il y a quelque chose à faire, resto, bars etc etc ? je n'aime pas trop rentrer à l'hôtel sitôt après le repas du soir ? merci

HI - due to arrive next week and tried to book some trips to koh rok and phiphi. Seems that most of operators are closed from may to oct. hadn't realised when booked and quite disappointed. do some operators still run if the weather looks good on a particular day? Trust me to book in the monsoon season. Is the weather likely to be really bad? Thanks Suzanne

We've been in May before and got warned of the same issues but experienced non of them! it rained for an hour a day, which to be honest was a welcome relief from the high temps. We got everywhere we wanted to. We are going in May this year too and are just going to book as we go rather than in advance. This was you can check boats are running and get some great last minute deals on hotels(which are already mega cheap anyway at this time!).

How far is it from Krabi airport?
Written May 11, 2017
Sorry for making you wait so long. Did not see your question.
Long beach is in Koh Lanta which is a view hours by boat away from Krabi... not just around the corner...
