This Old village, Dhanushkodi, is destroyed by Tsunami in the year 1964. Till that time the train was running upto this extreme point. The old Train Station can also seen on the way.

TSunami devasted this little village but people still live here and carry on with their business. The roadside hotels in thatched huts serve various types of fish fries. You get sea shells at throw, away prices.

The ruins of the church and the pulpit are a grim reminder of the tempest of 1964 that left several damaged lives and structures.

It was a town before a cyclone hit the place. Now there are only ruins of churches, schools and houses, a reminder of Mother Natures fury.
