This is a Birmingham favorite for good reason. Occupying an old mill, the brewery is visible from the very large public area and bar. They have a large selection of their craft beers. At least a few will fit into your favorite beer type (e.g. IPAs, Ales, Stout, etc.). All are superb examples of the brewer's craft and well balanced, flavorful and a delight to drink. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. They are definitely enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the products and work to ensure you find your favorites with liberal sampling. They also make a vodka, bourbon and gin. Didn't try the vodka and the bourbon has great potential but a little young yet. The GIN however is a masterwork! A wonderfully complex and unique mix of botanticals make this gin wonderful as a sipping gin on ice by itself or as a base for mixed drinks. I loved it so much I bought several bottles, some for gifts. Oh, Oh, wait... the food!! My expectations were so middling, but they know how to cook. Pub food with obvious attention to detail and terrific cooking skills bring each plate to the epitome of pub grub. What else could you want!! Off the beaten path but well worth it. A great hangout spot too. A special thanks to Molly, our bar guide, whose friendliness, enthusiasm for and knowledge of the Cahaba products really made our visit a delight. Also, John, the manager of the front house and the Current (food/catering) went out of his way to ensure that some hungry and thirsty travelers from California got to enjoy their awesome double cheese burgers and fries. These burgers were beefy and cooked to perfection. The fries exceeded all expections, double-fried and extra crispy with a light dusting on parm. Oh yeah!!! I wish I had taken time to get photos.

Delicious fruity mojito, sultry stout, or tacos from a food truck - the brewery has it all. Not to mention the games area, soccer matches on tvs, and a great outdoor area that always has room.

Really neat renovated warehouse-style location. Great bar area, indoor seating overlooking the brewery equipment, and arcade. We loved the shaded outdoor seating area on the loading dock. We brought in sandwiches from a nearby shop and sampled several beers. They do charge a deposit for the board that holds your samples, which is refunded when you turn in the board (so keep up with it).

It must have been a badd day for the young lady that was our bartender because she was fairly rude when we asked to try out a few other kinds of beer and she was just little really rude I mean so I guess hes really can't have more than one taste of a beer here

Cahaba had a great set up, huge area, games and a nice outdoor area. However, their beer choices were not all that great, I think there may have been a total of 7 choices available, which isn't much compared to the other breweries in the area.

Cahaba Brewery is such a fun place to go and has great beer. My favorite event here is Yellowhammer Creative's Cahabazaar. They have local venders and great food trucks. Cahaba has a great atmosphere and a friendly staff.

Since it has been pouring down rain forever.... we decided to go hang at the Cahaba Brewery. It was mega crowded, but the Brewery footprint is large so we didn't feel too crowded. When hundreds outside under the heaters and played cards, and drank good cold beer.

Beautiful location. Great selection of beers. Tried a few and all were excellent. No food but food truck was available. Definitely worth checking out.

My husband is a beer connoisseur, so while in the Birmingham area, he wanted to check out some of the local breweries. After reading a few reviews, he heard that Cahaba was one of the best in the area, and he would agree. I can’t speak for this, as I don’t drink beer, so I’m getting info regarding the tasting portion directly from him.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect as I had never been to a brewery before, but I was quite pleased. First off, they are pet friendly, so don’t be surprised if you see a pup or large dog or two. (They will be on a leash though.)

As you enter the very large, warehouse-like building, you stumble upon an arcade area and then proceed to an immense space with great lighting provided by the large windows and ample seating areas. The bar area is quite nice with exposed brick walls, a natural, wood ceiling suspended over the bar and the actual bar is constructed from wood slats and covered with a steel countertop. Suspended throughout the building are Edison-style lights providing ample light. There are multiple seating areas and many gaming areas as well, from shuffleboard, foosball, skee ball as well as a variety of board games. Along the floor to ceiling wall of windows that run through the center of the building, you are able to view the brewery which is incredibly clean and very well organized.

As far as the beer, they offer a variety of blends from blondes, reds to IPA’s. The beers were complex and had different notes of flavoring. They ranged from their Brown Ale at a 22 IBU all the way to Oka Uba IPA at a 65 IBU. My husband described the Brown Ale as a mild brown with a hint of coffee flavoring that lingered behind.

Our only issue is that they only run tours on Saturday’s. We wish that they would do them daily, as my husband really wanted to tour the brewery while we were in town.

This was a cool brewery to visit and partake in the libations. We had a 6 yr old with us and they have skeet ball, pinball, Pac-Man, etc. People bring their dogs and everyone is so friendly. We had fun and so did our son.
