Even just to unfreeze your toes, helped a great deal for the rest of the tour. What a wonderful experience to see the geysers, definitely worth getting up so early!

Not to be missed. Beautiful landscapes and not as crowded as some other places. Go at sunset, the refection of the volcanoes into the salt flats are amazing.

A crystal blue salt lake with amazing views. You can’t get very close to it, but there are several photo view points dotted around

Amazing, incredible a place to enjoy.. Bring a coat or wind jacket, the wind is strong, some days colder then others.. Is beautiful to enjoy when you see the magnificent of mother earth and feel your self like a grain of sand in the universe.....More

Definitely you should go there. See the flamingos nearby, amazing sceneries, beautiful nature, one of the places I liked most in the Atakama desert

As far as I can see on the map here on Trip Advisor and on some pictures it's the Salar de Aguas Calientes at the piedras rojas?! There are about four Salar de AC in the region. It this is the Salar at Piedras Rojas...More

As another reviewer has posted, you do need a 4x4 to visit the whole area around San Pedro as only the main roads are paved. Aguas Calientes is simply out of this world beautiful. So many photo ops. Flamingos on the lake and picture perfect...More
