Considering that this was the long-time imperial capital known as Ava, there is precious little left to see of it. There is the colonial-era fort which overlooks the Irrawaddy, with a few walls and a couple of show cannons, but that's it. Not much remains...More

We visited Innwa as part of a more general tour which allowed us to see several attractions around Mandalay. To visit Innwa we made a tour with a horse-cart of about 2-3 hours so to see the most important sites in Innwa. The area is...More

We come a bit late at noon then we just spend 3 hours there. It is the ancient city in Mandalay and has 4 temples and monasteries to explore. You should hire a cart to go, around 10.000 kyats.

Fairly forgettable sights in Inwa and probably not worthwhile the 2-3hrs trip from central Mandalay. As other reviewers have pointed out you need to take a ferry across to Inwa (5mins 1500kyats return p/p) followed by horse and cart/carriage journey (10000kyats) around 4 major sights....More

I went there with a day-tour and a private driver and it was worth every cent!! The temples are stunning and breathtaking. Very less tourists (in late October 2018). Quiet place to calm down after a day in Mandalay. Walked there around for nearly one...More

I had one of the best days of my life exploring this place on my motorbike. Going on a minibus you really won't see half of what's on offer. Amazing magical place. Come here before it gets too commercialised

Hop on the horse cart and be ready to turning the time. Over 2 hr, you will see how the Innwa time capsule is kept over time. Very little is disturbed from outside world (aparting from new cars and motorbike ). With the price of...More

This is a tourist trap, but a worthwhile one! Your private driver will bring you to a dock. You will have no choice but to pay 1,300 kyat for the boat to cross the river. It will be a scenic 5 min. ride on a...More

Some people do cycle it, c.22km. Easy to get a taxi to drive you to the jetty (c.30min). The boat takes 2minutes to cross then you have 1-2 hours going around on a horse and cart (10000kyat for the horse and cart). There are... More
