The Archaeological Museum is close to three other museums of Veliko Tarnovo, all related to the towns history. Entry is included in the two-days combined ticket for 10 museums. Quite attractive is the old stone building, in which the museum is housed, with arcades and...More

This museum visit was a disappointment - partially also because it could easily do much better. The archaeological museum in Sofia is simply fantastic - and there are a lot of archaeological treasures in Bulgaria. The main problem with this museum was the lack of...More

Well presented historical exhibition covering periods from antiquity to modernity. Rich collection of historical material and trained museum workers. There is plenty to see and learn.

The museum includes 2 floors of artifacts, and it took me an hour to explore while reading almost all rhe English details. Unfortunately only the per artifact description is translated to English but the background information on the period is only in bulgarian. Moreover, some...More

Worth a look in if just to see the beautiful 14th century glazed pottery and the 3rd century Roman horse toys. Sadly almost nothing useful in English. You can try using the photo text option in Google translate if you have a SIM. This provides...More
