The building of the church is very impressive. We wanted to visit it,but we could not get in,because the main door was closed. We will try it next time ;)

Its a nice church but the door was close and we couldn't see it. One local told us that we could jump above the fence but certainly we did not

Is one of the oldest churches in Tarnovo. Was build by Asan brother and is the place where the upraise against the Byzantine start. Open from 9 to 18.

Whilst the exterior is just another building or church,it is the bizarre inside that makes this place remarkable. The paintings depict another view of Christianity as seen by the communists and the cynics of the religion. Whilst it shocks, it is something to see.

We have been trying to gain access to this church plus various others locate within walking distance of each other and Bishops Bridge in Veliko Tarnovo. Three attempts later and a less than helpful visit to the Tourist Information Office we were finally successful. So...More
