Visit Vila Madalena by day for its galleries and alternative stores. Visit by night for a busy nightlife scene with numerous bars and cafes. There is a nice variety of restaurants, featuring many vegetarian and organic options. Every Saturday, Vila Madalena's main streets close for a big street market where you can find fresh vegetables and fruits for sale along with crafts. In the summer rainy season,
the streets can flood, but that doesn’t take away from the sparkle of this unique area.
