About
The emerald heart of an oftentimes gray city, São Paulo's Parque do Ibirapuera offers respite from the urban madness among cool, shady trees and mentally-stimulating structures. Running trails, bike paths, and yoga and capoeira sessions let locals and visitors alike keep fit, while a clutch of museums and galleries — such as the museums of Modern and Contemporary Art, all designed by master Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer — gives the brain a good workout. The impressive Museu Afro Brasil and fiery Auditório Ibirapuera are two of the park's treasures.

Neighborhood: Ibirapuera
Ibirapuera Park, the highlight of this neighborhood, is a family-friendly area to have a picnic, relax, play sports, exercise or appreciate art. It gets crowded during the weekends and is a popular leisure destination for residents. Its 1,584 square kilometers holds three lakes, two museums and several other cultural spaces. The park hosts a variety of events throughout the year, such as free music concerts and a water and light show celebrating the holidays at the end of the year. There are two important monuments to visit, the Obelisk and the Flag Monument. Ibirapuera is a perfect escape!

What a Huge park, this is an incredible park in any single way, much better than almost any other one in usa, Sau Pablo is a crowde city and have a park of this size in the center of the city is like an oaais, if you like sport you should go to the area were people organize soccer games. This park has free water for people and for the dogs !!! So beautiful, so clean, and well done for bikers and runners.

    Very nice
Absolutely breathtaking. Lush greenery, birds chirping, fish in the water, turtles swimming, long walks, plenty of activities to do. I just enjoyed the views from the bridge and spend some time walking around the park. I especially enjoyed one of the restaurants next to the water with live music. Highly recommend

A must-see in the heart of Sao Paulo
An amazing park. Well laid out and clean. The buildings did not strike me that much but the nature and lakes did. It is not so easy to get there by subway but walking down the hill from Paulista Ave along one of the nice streets a pleasure in itself.

Vast tranquil space. We walked from the centre (Palista Ave) so it is possible! Map was useful but it was not tourist friendly. Entrance we went to - 9b was shut for no reason. Museum of Art was shut with dozens of police around (big event ?) Wanted a bus tour around but found it difficult to work out how to. Lots of park officials but none spoke English.

This is a mesmerizing huge, fairly clean, park of greenery and lakes, which also houses other attractions of São Paulo, such as a planetarium and a Japanese garden. There are many pathways, playgrounds, cycling lanes, benches, restrooms, and more. But always be careful and somewhat vigilant, as thievery is a higher than normal risk.
