About
Street art and graffiti are no where as prevalent as in São Paulo, where virtually no surface is left untouched. This lengthy stretch of high-walled residences in Vila Madalena, nicknamed Batman's Alley, showcases some of the most impressive spray paint murals around. The constantly changing nature of the art form means there's sure to be something striking and new with each visit.

Neighborhood: Pinheiros
Exploring Pinheiros, a neighborhood known for cozy restaurants and cafes, you will notice a youthful energy. Several cultural centers and institutes surround the area and even its main church, Calvário, hosts a traditional Brazilian “Festa Junina” - a celebration with traditional music, dance, and food during the months of June and July. On the weekends, residents gather at Benedito Calixto Square, a loud and crowded area where people enjoy live music drinks alongside the antiquities fair.

If you like street art, this place is for you. However, if you are not passionate about graffiti and you will accompany such a person, then know that there are some nice bars in on the neighboring streets.

As for the graffiti - I was there during the week, shortly before sunset. There were no crowds, but still a lot of people who took pictures at each painting. In addition to Batman Alley itself, it is worth taking a walk in the many neighboring streets, because the phenomenon of painting walls here is very widespread. I took a walk, and then on the way back I drove by Uber through some 1-2 othets streets with cool paintings that I didnt see walking.

Generally, I felt safe after dark, but if you are concerned, go during the day. In the evening on Batman Alley in the small central gallery there is a meeting point and former Cosplayers.

A must ! It's a really beautiful and colourful place, a great alley to discover some modern and typical brazilian street art. It reflects the youth of SP and its commitment to many political subjects.

This walk is a really fun stroll. People-watching, building murals, and shopping kiosks make this a cool place.

Ok, I guess. I'm not a huge fan of grafitti or street art and while this is an interesting area to capture the work of street artists, I wasn't that impressed. Some of it was quite good, but other sections were just okay. If you don't have anything else to do, this might be an interesting place to visit, but unless you are fan of street art or comic book-style art, I would skip it.

I think Batman alley is not a real must see of Sao Paulo but it can be nice if you put it on your List, you can learn some backgrounds of the alley and to see many ideas which are appeared as a painting on the walls

We visited the Batman alley which was about two blocks of graffiti painted walls with several street arts vendors available. I would suggest 30 min - 1 hour to spend here.

I guess this is where the kids who drew on bathroom walls got sent to. Jokes a side, we looove this place! The art, the vibe, and especially that every year it gets bigger, brighter and better is just freaking awesome. Every time we come to Sampa, we visit Beco and every time we meet new cool people. This time, it was the artist Datostudio (leave a follow on Insta). We bought one of his art pieces and had great conversations. I always said that great people do great art, so it speaks for his art and personality. If you don't visit Beco and the surrounding neighborhood, you have not been in Sao Paulo :).
