This small beach is located about a 100/200 metre walk from the entrance to the cable-car station to Sugarloaf which is in the Praca General Tiburcio. Indeed you get a great view of the cable-cars as they go from Morro da Urca up to Pao...More

Small and quite beach. The sand is really fantastic. Not only the reddish colour, but it looks like sugar. There are kiosks with cold beverages all over. The water is not very clean.

In front the General Tiburcio square, close to the entrance for Sugar Loaf and Navy School, this small beach is quiet and adequate for sea bath. Is the begining for the Claudio Coutinho Trail and there are some people selling popcorns and beverages. Possibly less...More

A small beach, not as famous as Ipanema or Copacabana, but much more romantic. Closed between mountains, a small cove wedges inside the land just below the Sugarloaf mountain. While tourists probably will head to the Sugarloaf mountain funicular way station, don't miss visiting this...More

It is commonly known as "Red Beach" after the pinkish tinge in the sand. This beach is not natural sand like Copacabana etc and was created on reclaimed land with river sand. From the Sugarloaf cable car, the myriad of umbrellas reminded us of beaches...More

A peaceful beach area next to one of the highlights of Rio: the Sugarloaf! Amazing place to practice stand up paddle and to start a 30min hiking up to 220m high Urca hill.

Quietest beach in the Zona Sul. Great paddleboarding and views. Nice easy paved walkway along the base of Urca, with lots of marmosets and views.

It's a small beach which is pretty nice to visit because it's in the same neighborhood of Sugarloaf Mountain. You might not like to swim, but it's a pretty nice point view.
