At the time of its construction, there was no concept of panoramic elevator, and now it can't be changed because it's historical patrimonium, that's why it doesn't have an open view. Thanks for your comment and evaluation, we hope you can visti our city again,...More

This looks interesting from the outside but in reality it’s just an elevator it doesn’t even have windows in it. Keeping in mind it is only 15 cents and is a convenient way to get down to the market. There is a tram a block...More

It sounds more exciting that it is but it's a simple elevator. You don't get to see out as you are coming down or going up so it's basically used as a form to get from the top of the platform to the bottom. Nothing...More

Thank you for your comment! The Lacerda Elevator links the two parts of Salvador: the Cidade Alta, Praça Tomé de Sousa, and the Cidade Baixa, Cairu Square. It is 72m (191 feet) and is one of the postcards of Bahia. It reaches 900 thousand passengers...More

Anyone who does not visit the elevator Lacerda did not know Salvador. This connection between the two parts of Salvador, high city and low city is the post card of Salvador. Both above and below there are numerous tourist attractions.

The elevator itself is old and ugly. But at the top you can make nice shots of Salvador. There were lines of people, but it was organized.

Historic lift, moderised recently is an unusual sight for a city split into lower and upper parts! Included in the Salvador bus trip.
