The square is in front of the Theater, so it offers an excellent view of the most famous sightseeing in the city. There are restaurants and bars with typical local food (I strongly recommend "Tambaqui de Banda") and, depending on the day of the week,...More

Good place to see a capoeira roda on the weekend or a football match on the big screen during a special championship. Many, many people come out for big events but stay away if there's no planned social as the neighborhood can be dangerous when...More

This is a rather interesting square right in front of the Amazonas theater. Street performers are sometimes here, there are food vendors and restaurants, and many people hang out here so it's good for people-watching.

What a true delight to visit this magnificent and amazing building 1000 miles into the Amazon rainforest. We were privileged to see a musical concert which was wonderful.

Well, security used to be one of the best attraction of Manaus. This place was clean and safe. Lots of restaurants, souvenirs shops and fair around it. An Ice cream varanda shop and bar with side walk to sit and drink in peace.

This is the heart of the tourist area downtown. There are some restaurants, bars, ice cream shop, art galleries and artisan shops. It is a must to visit this place, maybe more than once during your trip so you can enjoy all that is available.

This landmark is a must if you visit Manaus. At this location, in downtown Manaus, you have the Amazon Theater, the beautiful São Sebastião church and several small shops, bars and restaurants. A good time to visit is between 17:30 and 19:00. Take many pictures.

Manaus had its first financial climax during the rubber export boom. During this period, Manaus became the Paris of the jungle. An amazing, well preserved and safe example is the area around the Amazon Theater (Opera House). There is a complex of historical buildings, and...More
