It's really quite something to see, however, there's not really a lot to see but the two different waters that don't mix. Our tour boat had us put our hands in the water and feel the temperature difference, which was pretty amazing, but there's not...More

Was able to experience this amazing phenomenon after a week on the Amazon. Saw several dolphins in the river as well. Just a once in a lifetime kind of trip.

In all honesty interesting, but not the most impressive site. We were on a private 2-day riverboat tour and got to jump off the boat and take a swim.

We stopped with speedboat at this point. The guide told us how the phenomenon works. we touched the water and you can feel a big difference in water temperature.

You really can see the mingling of the waters. The Solimoes' cocoa-milky Andean waters merge with the mirror-like blackness of the Rio Negro to create an unexpected vision.

On the Grand Amazon ship we were fortunate enough to be able to feel the waters which are surprisingly different in temperature as well as colour. The next morning we got up early to see the whole thing from the height of the Grand Amazon...More

too much hype for this tour. If you plan a boat trip towards Belem, you pass by this meeting of the 2 Rivers. Also you can see this kind of naturalphenomen again down in Santarem when the Amazone and the Tabajos Rivers meet

It was very interesting to see the non-blending of the waters from the 2 rivers and to learn that this endures for 100km. Didn't see many dolphins which was a bit of a disappointment but glad we went anyway.

Easiest way is to take a ( cheap) taxi. Agree a price beforehand, make sure the driver knows the destination first. Arm your self with a map!
