Wonderful small theater that does not create the common or traditional show. We saw Phantom of the Opera...as a ballet with a female Phantom...it was awesome!

I have seen a number of productions at Synetic Theater--every single one has just blown me away. Last night I saw "Phantom of the Opera". This is NOT the musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Instead, this is a totally new production, by an incredibly imaginative director and ensemble. The show is based on dance, and is extremely physical. The fight scenes are just so energized! The music is wonderful. The sets and special effects are surreal. The costumes are out of this world. The choreography is fantabulous! The phantom and the mannequins are so, so creepy, it is unreal!

As in most of the shows at Synetic Theater, there are no words spoken or sung. The actors can act out the story so well that, in conjunction with the music, there is no need for words. If you like innovative, fun, beautifully-staged and beautifully-acted theater, this is the place!

The show is quite innovative I think in its staging, lighting, setting and action. Fun and enjoyable. Really had a good time. They are also very accommodating in terms of ticketing. I called the box office and received good advice on seating and occupancy for the night.

Not so much food before the show and during intermission. Really easy to get to by Metro.

The staging, lighting, choreography, costumes, music and talent integrated with technology and action captured this work by Shakespere as adapted and directed to a 21st century presentation. BRAVO

I have been attending Synetic Theatre productions since the 2012 season. The very first show had me hooked by the incredible music, sets, and lights, but most of all the professionalism and movement of these exceptional performers. At Synetic Theatre the story and mime are clever, clear, and sophisticated. The absence of the spoken word does not impede understanding the plot. These seasoned actors are immersed in dance through the founders, Paata and Irina Tsikurishvili.

Music, costumes, makeup, lighting, and sets are consistently excellent. Most of the shows I have seen were directed by Paata and choreographed by Irina, while both also acting. The breadth of repertoire that I’ve seen spans from Taming of the Shrew, Jekyll and Hyde, Twelfth Night, The Adventures of Peter Pan, and the current production of Cyrano de Bergerac. Having grown up in a performing family, the Tsikurishvili offspring have also found their way into theatre. It was a great treat to experience Vato as Co-Director and Fight Choreographer in Peter Pan, and Director (and lead actor) in Cyrano. Below are photos of Ana and other actors showing not only the exquisite costumes, but the elaborate makeup that is a hallmark of Synetic Theatre. All of the productions have gentle, poignant moments, along with chaos, excitement, and plenty of humor. They are simply astounding, leaving the audience full of wonder and satisfaction.

The unique acting and action without words blew me away. World class caliber! I have never seen a dramatic production like the way Synetic does it. They are somehow able to fully express all range of emotions without saying a line of dialogue!

The theater space is intimate and, unfortunately, not full. D.C. people! wake up! Synetic is the real deal! Support them by attending performances, or you will never see the likes of them here

A friend an I attended Peter Pan yesterday and were so impressed. The set, props, and costumes were visually stunning, especially Tinkerbells costume. The choreography and music was dynamic and the Actors are very talented. We will definitely tell our friends and be back to the Synetic Theater!!

The show today was Peter Pan. And the kids loved it. But it was much more than melodrama. I found the movement and staging outstanding!

We readily admit to being 'biased' in favor of the superb productions continually presented by SYNETIC Theater! They are why we have been season ticket subscribers for many years now.

For it's unique offerings of Main Stage "Silent Shakespeare", world premieres & Family Series shows (& classes) tailored for both teens & children, SYNETIC has received a total of 27 Helen Hayes Awards & 120 nominations! While that may sound 'like a commercial' ... it is nevertheless true ... and attests to Synetic's long standing record of outstanding accomplishments.

SYNthesis + kinETIC results in a unique theater experience each and every time we attend. The most recent (and current through 8/13/17) production is a world premiere of "The Mark of Cain" -- a production of such power that it must be seen to be believed.

While there are only a few more days to see "The Mark of Cain", other shows in the upcoming season include: "The Adventures of Peter Pan"; "Hansel & Gretel"; "The Trial"; "Titus Andronicus"; and "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz".

Ticket prices are very reasonable -- free parking is readily available beneath the theater with elevator access to the Crystal City Underground -- and access via Metro Rail is also nearby.

A show at SYNETIC Theater should not be missed for anyone willing to 'think outside the box'.
