A great tribute to Airmen. Nicely designed and great views of the DC metroplex area. The staff were very helpful. Victor made our visit memorable.

As a USAF veteran, I decided to make the walk from DC over to the USAF Memorial. It took about an hour but I was able to cut through Arlington which helped. Wish it was closer to downtown DC but the walk was nice and I was able to see some of Arlington as well.
When I arrived, the USAF Honor Guard team was there but I had missed whatever activity they had performed which was a bummer. As a previous USAF base honor guard member, I did thank the ranking sergeant for his and his team's service and the duties that they perform. One of the highlights of my military career.
The memorial is very simple and still under construction and I'm hopeful it will continue to grow in the future. There is some parking and bathrooms but no store of information center that I could find. The memorial walls and quotations were done well. The view looking back at the Washington Monument, Capital Building, and Pentagon are great from the hilltop.
Looking forward to a return visit in the future. Hoping that the memorial can update information online somewhere potentially stating when events might occur so veterans can attend.

Beautiful memorial. Worth spending some time appreciating all the efforts of our Airmen. Ceremonies must be great here

What an amazing sight. You can see this from most anywhere in D.C. The pillars are 400 ft high. This location also offers some great views back to the city. It has some information scattered around the area as well. Just a nice memorial that stands out in design.
Overall, I had seen this while in the area and I was glad I finally stopped to see what it was.

This is very close to one of my kids homes, so it was an easy decision to stop to see it. Of course, it is a towering memorial, so you can see it from afar, but it was impressive to see up close

You can see this monument from afar. Looking at the monument up close is inspiring. The monument sits on a location that has awesome city views. Plenty to see which makes a visit worthwhile.

The Air Force Memorial is beautiful. It stretches up to the sky near the Pentagon. It should be part of your trip to Washington. It is located right off I-395

Can I bring a charcoal barbecue and grill food on the grassy hill adjacent to the Air Force Memorial?

You can stop by enroute to almost anywhere. Easy to find because you can see it and the signs are good. Take about 30 minutes to read the air battles and honor the Medal of Honor Awardees.

You can see this memorial from many areas in Arlington because it is so tall. There is good parking right by the memorial. There are great views of the Pentagon from the memorial. There is not much to do besides viewing the memorial but it is worth going just to pay respect.

We will be going to Arlington National Cemetery via the metro from DC. What is the best way to then get to the Air Force Memorial?

Best way to do is taking the Metro and get off at the Pentagon Station, walk to the Memorial (15-20 minutes depend on your speed. Or you can take bus that goes via Columbia Pike but if you can walk, I would suggest walking because half way to the Memorial you can also visit the Pentagon (9/11) Memorial. Enjoy the tirp.

Excellent parking and it is free. There is a security guard on duty as well. Flat area, easy for elderly or handicapped access. Not crowded at all the day we went.
