If you have any interest in the American Revolution, you must visit this site where the "over the mountain men" mustered to start the campaign that ended with the British loyalist defeat at King's Mountain in Oct. 1780. However, we were dismayed to discover that...More

We stopped by the Muster Grounds and had a very educational time. The person who was handling the visitor center was very knowledgeable about the "Over Mountain Men".

This is a very nice attraction with a lot of history in our fight for freedom. The visitor center at this site is very nice. It has good exhibits about the revolutionary war. There is also a trail behind the visitor center with some signs...More

It's a National Park affiliated site, so it doesn't have lots of support. The staff (who seem to be volunteers) clearly aren't doing this for applause from the vast crowds. But, they do an excellent job on a very limited budget to talk about how...More

We really enjoyed visiting here. There was a civil war reenactment and camp the day we went. My whole family enjoyed it. Be sure to visit the museum while there too.

I stopped with a friend to kill time. Parking is not great, but it wasn't crowded. Small but informative museum and very informative and nice desk person. Also walking path and activities throughout the year. Best place we went all day!
