I spent three hours at the library and absolutely loved it. I wasn’t very excited about the sports exhibit but after spending five minutes looking at it I was blown away. They depicted the history of segregation and inequality in sports through history and what...More

This is our 7th Presidential library, and we visit them to learn about the presidents and events that occurred during their Presidencies, not to validate our own party leanings like some reviewers apparently do. We were able to take advantage of free admission through the...More

I went down memory lane when I visited the LBJ Presidential Library. It's amazing how events prior to the civil rights act are parallel with what's happening today. If you're a veteran, they only charge $5; regular is $10. If they don't ask if you're...More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the museum. There was lots of information from pop culture, to the sports exhibit. My kids loved the animatronic LBJ. It's not for small children, but my 11 year old enjoyed it. There is an awesome replica of the...More

Fascinating insights into the life and times of LBJ - President Lyndon Baines Johnson. Good exhibits and movies as well as other exhibits that really opened him up and increased our knowledge. Well worth a visit.

This is the second time I’ve been to the LBJ library. I’ve been to FDR, Kennedy, Hoover, Clinton, Bush 1 and Truman libraries. This one has a nice open library, a nice museum, and offers access to a huge archive of 1960s material dealing with...More

LBJ helped create/implement many things that we take for granted today (Medicare, Medicade, voting rights, environmental requirements) that have improved many peoples lives. This museum helps highlight those accomplishments and the people he had to deal with to make it happen.

While we didn't really expect to do "educational" activities on our recent short trip to Austin, our daughter had made a list of ideas for what we could do, and since touring the LBJ Presidential Library was free on July 4, we figured we had...More

The curators at the LBJ Library do an outstanding job of presenting the presidency of Lyndon Johnson in the context of the times. Having come of age in the ‘60s, I am deeply moved every time I visit the LBJ.

We expected to be there for two hours, stayed 4! And that doesn't include the Gift Shop. What took the longest was maybe the most satisfying-- the tapes of phone conversations between LBJ and many fascinating people.
