My parents were in the country recently and I spent a lot of time going with them to the busy churches in Manila, like Quiapo and Baclaran. We were staying near Katipunan avenue and this was the last church we went to before they left.
I'm a quiet person so I felt really comfortable here. I felt a sense of peace even for a just a little bit. It felt like a quiet haven from the traffic and noise outside.

I was truly impressed by its well manicured gardens and the serene atmosphere that it offers. The Poor Clares have always lived up to the ideals of simplicity and deep love of God.

The prayerful ambience got me. I knelt and whispered my most fervent prayers.

I went here with my girlfriend 24-7-17. Ambiance was quite peaceful even though it was a roadside establishments. Egg vendors outside are convenient for people to buy their offerings. We bough 6 pieces for 40 php, already wrapped in offering paper. We arrived just before the 17:30 closing time. I am catholic but I don't understand how eggs became a offering ritual here. I hope our eggs don't just rot in their convent. This place is just a stone's throw away from ADMU and The Yard food park where we ate after. Would visit again. Can somebody explain to me how the egg offerings came to be?

“It is believed that offering eggs to the Poor Clares in exchange for prayer petition of a good weather, works. By tradition, a dozen eggs (representing the twelve months of the year) is offered even if one wishes only for a day or two without rain."

Most of you will agree with me when I say that this is one of the many churches in the Metro where you will find "genuine peace" within your soul and heart. I brought my fiancé here for the first time last year and he was just so amazed that there's still a few to mention churches that kept their solemnity and humility. 🙏🏻

The monastery was moved because of road expansion... but it has remained to be a place of solemnity and peace.
Our prayer request and petitions have never failed when these are lifted by the nuns of this monastery.
Gifts to the monastery are not limited to the eggs (that are personally brought or bought outside the chapel).

Upon entering you'll see people selling eggs. They say that this is the offering for the Saint. We went here to ask guidance for our law school and bar exams.

When donating, don't bring eggs, i think they have too much of it already.

Santa Clara is famous for offering eggs to the monastery and writing your prayers with it. They also offer blessing of religious artifacts. Church mass is held every early morning and late afternoon.

It's my fourth time to visit but my third time to visit with family. Apart from being able to pray, this place shows us that people come together as a family or a group to offer petitions and have faith
