If you want to see a real historic decorated church, go instead to manila area like San Sebastian, Manila Cathedral, San Agustin, and Binondo Church. this church is slightly far from manila. there is not much to see except the La Naval Virgin. Beside being big and spacious, there is not much see. You just admire the spacious building. Guards can be rude at times apprehending you with no warnings. To be safe, proper decorums are required.

When my kids were small this is the church where we attended mass every Sunday. But since they are all grown up now we go to church where it is nearer our place. We just go and visit occasionally. There were beautiful memories I will always remember when I hear the name "Sto. Domingo Church". The beautiful set up on Christmas Season and Lenten Season and Feast of La Naval. My sister also got married here and it was a beautiful wedding with the Tiples Choir singing during the ceremony. My second child was baptized in this place too. Most of all I will always remember this church because this is were the early learning of my children about our love for God and how it is to be one family loving each other started.

Santo Domingo Church, according to wikipedia is also known as the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of La Naval de Manila. It is the largest church in Metro Manila and one of the biggest churches in Asia. It is a massive church complex and serves as the center of Dominican activities in the country. The massive church is also a landmark of the Marian Faith since for decades it celebrates the La Naval, a festivity on the second week of October . A procession that entails walking 3 kilometers and a parade of beautifully adorned carosas of Dominican saints. It commemorates the victory of the Spanish armada over the Dutch fleet in the battle of Manila Bay. Through the intercession of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary the Spanish won over their enemies despite being greatly outnumbered in terms of men and ships. Many miracles have been attributed to Our Lady and once a year she dons her expensive diamonds and gems donated by the faithful who have experienced healing of grave diseases. The church itself boast of artworks, stained glass depicting religious images. The baroque style with many arches is an amazing architectural wonder. An inner garden well manicured is also a haven of peace. Whenever I go to Santo Domingo, I always reminisce my growing up year of elementary and high school when every year we join the annual festivities.
