Quite the building! On the second floor was a showing of several artists. A few that will stick with you for the rest of your life. For instance one artist forgive me I don't know their name but forever I will think about the heart display. Made from the burnt wood of the Australian fire is a matrix of wooden hearts. This is a reference to our own death, from the Egyptian book of the dead. The docent explained to me that at death each heart is weighted and to pass to the next life a heart weight exactly the same as a feather. Each soul's heart must be not be too heavy or too light. It made me think for sure. It was quite moving. Another artist provided a glimpse of death as well with a living piece of the earth. The piece of earth that sits above your coffin, I happened to be there when she was bringing in fresh plants to plant. Like someone tending the grave of a love one after they were gone. Overall many treats to see in the place. I would love to see the theater when it is open. I hope they begin having plays there soon. And get more artists to display there works there. Very enjoyable.

This place is prominent to both local and foreigner alike...It is located between the International Airport and the Rizal Park by/on the Manila Bay... The Miss Universe Beauty Pageant four decades ago was held in this building structure...At the peak of their fame in the 70s, the Bee Gees also performed on its stage...Nowadays, newer building structure were built privately in the city that special concerts or show are diverted in those venues...

I love this place! You can still feel how exciting it is to step in to this grand theater. Most international musical productions are staged here which makes it a hotspot for theater fans, local shows are also staged at the main theater and the little theaters within the building.

Unfortunately, due to its age, it's already showing some wear and tear. A redevelopment of the interiors as well as exteriors are needed. Also, balcony stairs and seats are so steep that one wrong move might make you fall to the pit below.

Don't bother trying to rent costumes from Tanghalang Pilipino. There is only one custodian who is available to accommodate you and show the costumes, but is never free and not very responsive. Noone else is available to help possible customers and they claim that others are on leave. They usually say that they're unavailable to accommodate customers because of errands, rehearsals, shows; this should be understandable but not when it extends to weeks. When you reach out to them, it's already clear that they do not show any interest in accommodating your request. They'll end up suggesting that you should just buy from ukay-ukays instead. So in summary, they don't provide any services at all.

Shameful to call this the Cultural Center of the Philippines,,,, in the run down state that it is currently in,,, Period,,,,, We have been going there for more than Two years,, and Yes,, we asked if there would be Renovation.... NONE,,, Zero,, Zip ,, Nada! No need to complain of funding,,,, as over the course of time,, Nothing is getting done! Floors are Moldy,, Ceiling cracking,, Walls are turning brownish,,,, so to call this the Cultural Center is truly shameful for the Philippine People!

Watched the Australian touring production of Wicked on Feb 2014. The musical was very well staged and all actors gave their best performances. Regarding the theatre, it could do with some sprucing up and some cleaning but it still has that classy feeling of old.

CCP is actually a theatre for stage productions. I recently saw Mama Mia their and the seats on the lower level were comfortable with plenty of leg room. A friend who sat in the 3rd/4th tier said the actors were 'specks' on the stage. So if you're going to an event at CCP, folk out the $$ and get good seats on the 'ground' level. Oh, allow plenty of time to get to the theatre - the traffic on the approach is terrible. Not sure I'd go walking around the related precinct in the evening - there were quite a few beggars (so get dropped-off and picked-up close to the theatre. Also, there was a very long line to the women's bathroom . so time your run!
