This museum is definitely worth your time if you enjoy art. It can be experienced in an hour and features a good variety of classical and contemporary pieces. There is a gallery with outstanding portraits of important people in Philippine history. If you have time to spare, get a Grab car rather than walk from inside Intramuros as we did.

It's FREE and it's educational. There are so many rooms you could visit with lots of art work. Each piece has a bit of info you could read about. It's a good rainy day and scorching hot day activity.

The Art Gallery is housed in the former Legislative Building and the Senate moved out just about 20 years ago in 1996. The collections are extensive and it beyond the scope of my review. The most famous painting is Juan Luna's "Spoliarium" on the main floor where the House of Representatives use to meet; the Senate met on the upper... More

Really interesting art collections- lots or Catholic imagery - particularly liked the Stations of the Cross exhibit by unknown artist My favourites are by an artist called Manansala , particularly Veronica which I have subsequently ordered as a print . Was unfamiliar with any of the works on display but really loved this visit . It was also free !

I spent 2 hours here and it was only enough for the first 2 floors. The collection is well varied and well-organized.

Great museum that shows alot of the history of the Phillipines. Beautiful paintings, statues, carvings, books, ... of the Phillipine artists. The old masters but also the more recent art. Well maintained and cool to spend a nice afternoon learning more about the Phillipines. Must see when you are an art lover.

Part of the national Museum complex, the National Art Gallery houses mostly artifacts about the Philippines. It is home to the relics of the San Diego (an old galleon ship) even having its anchor on display. Various ceramics, pottery, clothing are on display as well. My two favorite items were the section of the Berlin Wall given to the Philippines... More

Be sure to visit here and take a ride in the horse drawn buggies through Paco Park. They will let you off at the Ocean Park.
