Nice city square in Intramuros. Plaza de Roma is surrounded by three important landmarks of Intramuros: the Manila Cathedral to the south, the Palacio del Gobernador to the west, and the Casas Consistoriales, also known as the Ayuntamiento de Manila, to the east. The Real Audiencia of Manila was also located in proximity to the plaza during Spanish rule.

This was a small park centrally located in front of Manila Cathedral, Bureau of the Treasury, and Governor’s house. It was a popular place for families as well as street sellers and tour guides.
It also gave a nice vantage point to take photos of the surrounding buildings.
In the Center was a statue of King Charles the IV and he was honored after sending the first set of smallpox vaccines to the Philippines.
A small, open air library was also located here. It gave a small respite from the hot Manila sun.

Plaza Roma is one of two public squares in Intramuros, it is an attractive square surrounded by many significant buildings including Manila Cathedral which is the the most domimant and also Palacio del Gobernador. In the centre of the square is a monument to Charles IV of Spain. Plaza Roma is one of many attractions that Intramuros has to offer.

Old main square of Manila, it is the most Spanish of the city's squares. On one side is the cathedral, on the other the governor's palace, in front the town hall, and in the middle, the statue of King Charles IV. It's like being in any Spanish province

This review is quite late. Nothing is really special with Plaza Roma except for the huge statue standing there.

After visiting San Agustin Museum and San Agustin Church came here by walk for about 5 minutes. Plaza Roma is located just outside and opposite of Manila Cathedral.
Plaza Roma is one of two public squares in Intramuros, it is an attractive square as it is near by to other attractions. It has a small park with trees around. There are slab seating arrangements available too. Took 10 minutes for relaxing and then entered Manila Cathedral.

This is a small square located out the front of the Metropolitan Cathedral. There is some grass, a statue or two and some seating. Nothing particularly special but you may as well take a look when already in the area.

Plaza Roma is just another square, but popular with local people as they wait outside the Manila Cathedral. Take note of the statue in the middle of the Plaza

Well worth a visit and you probably will visit without knowing it due to location near Manila Cathedral.

This is a pleasant public square located directly in front of Manila Cathedral. The centre of the square is marked by a statue of King Carlos IV of Spain, as a commemoration of his sending smallpox vaccine to the Philippines.
Nicely laid out, but you are likely to be pestered by hawkers and beggars in this area so stay alert.
Great location to get photographs of Manila Cathedral.
The rear of the square holds art displays. Currently a pink polyurethane creation by Latvian artist Bikse. Entitled 'Red Slide' - not exactly my cup of tea and some incongruity with location - just doesn't sit well there - fails to blend.
The location on the Trip Advisor map is wrong, but as Plaza Roma is marked on the TA Map it's easy to see and the cathedral overlooking it makes it difficult to miss.
