In addition to the numerous touring exhibits throughout the year, two of the anchors in this museum are the priceless Gold Gallery and the ancient Pottery Gallery, with pieces dating back to 220 BC.

Everyone who has an interest in art, history, and culture owes it to themselves to visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art at least once in their lives. Preferably multiple times (because you really can't see it all in one day.) My favorite gallery is the Polynesia gallery which is such an incredible space, but you can't go wrong anywhere you... My kids were mesmerized at the different styles of used and loved the colors and textures of different paintings. I think the best part of the Met is that they have Braille on some pieces which allows the blind to "see"... More

Modern art lovers will appreciate this museum more. I prefer traditional art such as landscapes. However, there were a few good exhibits here such as the family dioramas in the TV sets; I am glad I visited. It is small, plan for 40-60 minutes.

The Philippines has a tragic past and it's reflected in its art. This museum didn't disappoint, especially for just 100 pesos! Lots of sculptures and really interesting modern stuff unlike anything you'd find in other countries. I felt like it was a true reflection of modern Filipino culture but that's from an outsiders perspective. Not far away from a waterfront... More

This is a very nice museum with a general collection of art on the ground floor and Filipino contemporary art on the upper level. I found beauty and dynamism in the museum which was thought provoking and stimulating. Whilst I could find a gallery on the upper floor to Anita Magsaysay Ho, I failed to find any of her works... We love art and this place is the greatest we visited in Manila. The paintings are beautiful and the visit was fabulous.

I visited this museum last year and the basement is still closed until today. It's supposed to show the collection of pre colonial pottery and gold collection. The entrance fee is 100 pesos but there is no brochures about the permanent exhibitions upstairs. The special exhibition on the ground floor is nice. You don't get too much information if you... It's small and you could see it all in half an hour to an hour, but it's well worth a visit to see a fairly interesting collection of contemporary art. Not a lot to see, but for only P100 entry I felt it was still worth the effort. I was glad I went. The downstairs area was the only area... More

This Museum is within the perimeter of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas. Aside from its money collections, it features various exhibits, sometimes for a month or for a quarter, both local and international artists. The area is well maintained. Upstairs is an interactive area where you can even try "playing" some native games. There is an entrance fee of P150.00.

If you're trying to get a handle on filipino art and expression, this museum will help, but the insights will be selective, and it may be that you only find a few of their pieces really moving. At least that was my experience. There are some nice pieces in the filipino collection. The contemporary work runs the gamut from conceptual... More
