- 気まぐれな旅人Manila, Philippines6,353 contributionsCasa Manila MuseumI came to Manila with a business partner for sightseeing. Casa Manila is a museum in Intramuros that depicts colonial life when Spain colonized the Philippines. Casa Manila is a copy of the 1850s San Nicolas House on Javoneros Street, and is modeled on Spanish colonial architecture. The museum itself is not very large. I think the space for other restaurants may also be part of the mansion. We came on our own, but there were many Japanese people who came on tours.Visited March 2024Traveled on businessWritten April 3, 2024
- Bontaks TravelsSydney, Australia658 contributionsTime well spent and a blast from the pastCasa Manila is a recreation of a home of an affluent Filipino family during the late Spanish colonial period. The decor is late 19th century when the furnishings were sourced from Europe and China, as was the fashion at the time. So shiny with all the polished wood! And it cost a whole $2 AUD for entry – bargain! I am a big fan of seeing the ‘upstairs/downstairs’ comparison, and this casa also showed the kitchen and lavatory, which is always interesting! We visited on our own rather than with a tour, which meant we could take our time, taking pictures as we went. A visit to Casa Manila is time well spent. - County-HunterTacoma, Washington3,750 contributionsWorth a visit. We stopped here as part of a larger tour of Old Manila. It was an old three story Spanish style home for the wealthy. We had a tour guide who pointed out many interesting details. Otherwise, you might not know what you were looking at as there were no signs.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 11, 2024
- Dan LBunbury, Australia9,033 contributionsPrivileged Filipino Family ResidenceReturn visit, on this occasion having a look only at the areas not visited in 2023. Its an amazing relic of a privileged lifestyle enjoyed by a Filipino family while the country was under Spanish colonisation. Some Filipinos were evidently looked upon more favorably than others. Too crowded on the day and we made a decision to head to the Royal Cafe for some refreshments and rejoin the group on conclusion of their visit.Visited November 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten December 12, 2024
- Abovetheclouds2,480 contributionsExcellent!Excellent! Casa Manila is a living museum that features the lifestyle of an affluent Filipino family during the late Spanish colonial period. You can get a really good insight into what life was like then. January 2025, and an adult ticket cost PHP 75. I would suggest, as there are a number of historical landmarks located in the Intramuros area, to hire a guide for half a day or a full day. It is easier as the area is not that easy to navigate.Visited January 2025Traveled soloWritten January 3, 2025

Visited on a Friday in March - the whole place is virtually deserted on a Friday afternoon . Restaurant , cafe was closed . Museum was closed , gift shops and craft shops people were not keen to welcome visitors . Only facility functioning was the toilet . Appears as though the staff ware not ready to receive tourists or business . Hope they get started up soon .

A must visit in intramuros, a colonial house from the Spanish era, very well preserved, both the structure of the house, as well as the different furniture, and ornaments found there.
Great carpentry work inside. Cafes with terraces are located in the central patio.
Entrance fee 75 PHP.
It does not allow entry between 20 to 30 minutes before closing.

I really like the place, it has so much to offer. Once you enter inside the casa, you can really feel the way of life of the people who used to live here. It's unfortunate that videos are not allowed inside, but taking pictures is permissible.

This is an excellent reconstruction of an aristocratic Spanish colonial home. It's filled with details and furniture. I particularly enjoyed the kitchen, and the capiz shell covered windows. It's also interesting to see the similarities between this house and colonial homes in the Americas.

A nice place to visit if you prefer something nostalgic. The place was wonderfully preserved with nice touch of history and a bit of modern twist. You can try Filipino food and drinks and even rent bamboo bikes as you go down memory lane. Defintely worth visiting!

No photos are allowed inside which is ridiculous. There are no artifacts that would be damaged by flashbulbs. The place itself is reminiscent of Spanish wealth and how they lived. Now wonder this was a project of Ms. Marcos! The house is set-up rather well with time period pieces and is basically a nice tour. No air conditioning, which should be installed. The courtyard is nice and photos are allowed there.

This is a reconstruction of a Spanish colonial home of the 19th century.
I enjoyed my walk through Intramuros and Casa Manila was an interesting stop. The house/museum layout was easy to navigate. I enjoyed the courtyard and fountain. The capris windows in the second floor reminded me of my wife's grandfather's home.
Some of the collections were hard to see because of the low lighting. And pictures are not allowed inside. They could offer better postcards or a CD of pictures of the house and landscape.

Cheap entry fee, tour guides available but not needed. Walk through the different rooms and see the different historical artifacts which was nice to see the different things they used in the olden times, especially in the kitchen and bathroom.
Note: you are not allowed to walk on the wooden floor where they have red carpet laid out, so at points it will be one way traffic :). Also no large photography equipment such as go pro's on sticks.

1 to 1 1/2 hours will be sufficient. In case you want to see more, you can also get a bike tour of Intramuros from one of the establishments in the same complex.
