Good for a quick look around the walled city
It is difficult to hear the guide while she is on the move, but enough to give you a taste of the area, so you may go back and walk the route at your leisure. The information provided was extremely limited, and only extended to pointing with a description such as,” old church” “, Fort” or” dungeon”. There is extensive signage around the area providing much more information. However, there is not enough time to stop and read it on this chariot tour. We enjoy the thrill of riding, a Segway in different cities around the world and this tour is provided at a budget price. Entrance fees are not included.

First time on a segway- I was really worried about balance having seen people fall off these but it was very easy. Manila is flat so no unpleasant ups or downs. The tour was adequate, parts were closed because the president attended a wedding there, but still interesting to see. The only catch is that after a while your feet start hurting because you are basically standing still for an hour- so Ido not recommend more than 1 hour on this. The tour starts all the time so it in fact was a private tour.

We had booked online to do a 1 hour tour of intramuros and were really looking forward to it. The day we had booked it was bucketing down rain and we kind of resigned ourselves to the fact that it may not be the best thing to do in the rain but that we'd go and check it out anyway. Upon arrival at the hotel we were informed that they do not take out the chariots in such weather which we supposed was fair enough and simply asked for a refund as we were leaving that night to come back to Australia.

It took nearly 2 hours to get the response that we could not be refunded as we had booked online but we were more than welcome to have a credit at the hotel for a room or food and drinks! This was no good to us as our holiday was only hours from being over! The hotel manager was doing everything he could for us and we really appreciated his efforts but obviously management had other ideas - namely keeping our money even though they were the ones to cancel the tour on us.

When booking I was not informed that inclement weather would stop tours from being run which made it all the more frustrating. Needless to say we left rather disgruntled and are still waiting for an official response from management via email to see if they are willing to do anything more for us. I will post further here if I do get a response from them.

Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience you have experienced, however it is our policy that there are no last minute cancellations or refunds but only rescheduling will be allowed as stated in the website of online booking. Nevertheless, the management as represented by the hotel manager had extended a very generous consideration that's why they offered for you to opt to convert into food and beverages in the hotel. Anyhow, you may use this booking anytime in the future or you may assign the credit to anyone for as long as you officially notify us.

I gave this two stars because the equipment is poorly maintained. I have now been on 8 Segway tours around the world so I have a little experience. When I first got on #6 chariot/Segway I thought the handle was very loose and made it a little more difficult to maneuver. The real problem came about 10 minutes into the trip. We were stopped and the battery cut out, the gyroscope stopped working and my machine fell forward as did I. I bruised my hand, sprained my wrist and hit my helmet on the wheel guard of the machine in front of me. The machine my companion used made a grinding noise the entire time as if the bearings needed greasing. So there was the concern that this machine might break down before we were done.

At first , the sound of this tour was amazing , we were really excited . But after actually trying it out . It wasn't worth the hype . Your guide were very knowledgeable but a little rude . I don't get why all the positive reviews. Not worth the time or money

We really enjoyed our segway tour, and our two guides were excellent. And the fact that my wife and I were the only two who signed up for that Saturday morning time slot on July 28th made it that much better.

The tour is of the old wall, Intramuros - a beautiful site that is worth a visit, and great for picture-taking.

Since the novelty of the tour is of course the segways themselves, the tour is probably best for those that have never used one before.

The value is good at $25 USD per person for a one-hour tour, at least compared to the same kind of tours in North America.

However, the reason for my lower rating of this tour is the dubious business ethics of the people running it. No where on the website does it communicate that you are to pay an additional amount of money upon your arrival (I mean in addition to the amount you pay for the tour itself). This is supposedly for "insurance." The amount is not a lot (P100 per person), but this needs to be communicated up front for transparency. I refused to pay the additional amount since it was not previously communicated, and instead this became part of the tip for the guides.

More importantly, their policy on what happens when the event gets rained out is unforgiving for tourists. As a recent reviewer said, should this happen to you the company will NOT give you a refund. They will instead reschedule your tour. This is an unacceptable policy that does not help international tourists, who will never be back in the country. Needless to say, it is best to schedule this tour at the beginning of your stay in Manila (as we did on our first day) so that you have contingency dates should it rain heavily. If your stay in Manila is very brief (e.g., a couple of days), then I would suggest you not book with this company, and instead do the tour in a different country with a more tourist-friendly weather condition refund policy.

Traveling around Intramuros with Joswie and the Electric Chariot Tour was one of the best decisions my boyfriend and I made while visiting Manila. It was just he and I on the tour and they were able to tailor the experience to our interests and time preferences. After a quick tutorial on how to use the segways we were off to see Intramuros and Fort Santiago. Joswie was a charming and informative guide. He kept us interested in the history of the city while also engaging us around the culture and local customs. We learned a lot about local hero Rizal as well as little known history regarding the Japanese history during their occupation of the Philippines. It was a fun, fascinating and informative experience. I will definitely bring family and friends back again!

It was a unique experience to ride around the chariots. We were a group of 8 family & friends - all first time riders. We enjoyed learning to ride while being guided all over the route.
The tour left much to be desired though - it was very short and the places visited were really not all that interesting.

Overall, this is a great idea, that can be much improved by planning a better tour.

If you want a tour of Intramuros, this is not the one to take. If you want to learn to ride a Segway, maybe. But the cost is pretty steep just to ride for an hour.

I did the tour, the one hour guided tour for P 1500 with a buddy of one who hadn't been home for 20 years. The Sunday paper had a front page article on it so we gave it a try. It was the best thing I've ever done in my laid back adult life.

The chariot reads your body English so the wheels seem connected to your inner brain. Great fun. After 10 minutes practice we were gliding around as if on a cloud. Nice stuff. The tour sights are purely incidental, the fun is making the chariot do what you want. However, you do go through Intramurous walled city of the Spanish conquistadores that was a fortified city during their 400 year rule. Many ruins are the main visual points of interest but I've been there and done that long time ago. So it was the chariot that was the ting for me!

After the hour is over, you need 2 minutes or so to get your legs back. And these machines are supposed to make walking obsolete? The human race is in for big trouble cause these machines take all the fun away from going for a stroll.

Great fun!!
