A very informative and interesting time spent with the dynamic Carlos. Would have liked to have seen more of the Intamuros sites. Good value - lots of extras that We didn't expect. We booked ahead and given a price (P450) and got there and they asked for the password and something about bartering and we had no clue what they... More

Add wit and social conscience to Manila's halo halo culture and you have a hint of how interesting Carlos makes history. Highly recommend as a late afternoon/evening adventure. History is presented in a very accessible way but is not softened in any way.

Went with my brother and my boyfriend last weekend. It was our first time to go on this kind of tour, and I thought a good way for my boyfriend to learn more about Philippine history as he is non Filipino. We came a bit late because of the traffic but it was great that they were still able to... More

This is literally the first thing everyone should book! He is an extraordinary guide that will show you Manila from another angle in a completely unexpected way. It was like a walking theater through history filled with emotions, soul, music... Fabulous!

A wonderful and easy way to learn about the history of Manila! The tour takes about 2-1/2 hours and includes some easy walking (steps are necessary), fresh air (as fresh as you’re going to get in a big city like Manila) and Carlos’ WONDERFUL commentary on the history of Manila. It is necessary to go into this with an open... More

My wife and I try to do walking tours wherever we travel and this is certainly one of the best anywhere. Although we didn't walk all that far around Intramuros the entertainment and history lesson were superb. What an easy way to learn. I'd recommend to anyone as great value for money.

Carlos held everyone's attention from the get go with his charisma and antics. He knows the history well and injects his spiel with humor, bits of sarcasm and loads of passion. The vivid images he conjures help to make the facts stick to your memory long after the tour has ended. Carlos is, quite simply, one of a kind.

I loved this tour. Carlos makes the rich history of Manila come to life. His presentation was incredible. As sad as Manila's history may seem, the national pride and clear ambition that emerged from Manila's struggle with imperial powers and its fight for independence left me feeling hopeful. His tour was inspiring and beautiful - not to mention very funny... More

It's been a couple of hours since finishing Carlos Celdran's excellent tour, and I'm still processing all I heard. The vivid descriptions of the colonial Spanish and US influences and US reparations after WWII help explain some of what has been puzzling me about Manila as an American visitor....where is the Filipino"ness"? Why American models on the malls posters? Why... More
