This is a tribute place for Philippines national hero Dr. Jose Rizal. If you're a fan of his story then visit this place. Aside from the statue there's also a lot of things to do so it's worth it.

An excellent museum which gives an authentic feel to life in Rizal's time.
There are many items of interest, some of which were used by Rizal.
Well worth a visit.

Your visit to the fortified walls (Intramuros) of Manila would not be complete without seeing this Shrine.
This Shrine is fortified complex dedicated to the lifework of José Rizal is located on Santa Clara Street, Fort Santiago, Intramuros, Manila.
This houses the building the Philippines' national hero spent his last night and where his family later found concealed in an oil lamp, the famous poem Mi último adiós (My Last Farewell).
The shrine exhibits Rizal's various memorabilia such as the shells he collected in Dapitan, books, manuscripts and artworks belonging to the prodigious and multifaceted Rizal.
A portion of this Shrine serves as a venue for theatrical performances such as those presented by PETA some years back,

After enjoying a Jeepney Ride to Rizal Park I walked through the park to the Rizal Shrine Memorial.
The Park and the Shrine was well worth the visit.

Anyone interested in Philippine History should see this shrine. Americans can think of Rizal as something like the George Washington of the Philippines...and important founding father. Part of the Fort Santiago/Intramuros complex, it is easy to find.

Extremely well-done display that makes the entire visit fee to Ft Santiago worth it on its own. This helped me learn an enormous amount about this great and diversely-talented man and his country's history. One of my Top 5 for this trip.
