About
Museo Filipino is a historical museum gallery in Intramuros, Manila (just behind Manila Cathedral) that gives tourists a birds-eye view (30-minute crash course) on Philippine history. Using illustrations procured from the early 19th century, pictures from the US Library of Congress, and other sources, Museo Filipino narrates Philippine history from the pre-colonial period until the present-day administration. It is a good jump off point in Intramuros because it also highlights the owners' favorite places of interest in Intramuros, such as the Memorare, the gardens, the wall, the monuments of Queen Isabella and King Philip of Spain, etc. Entrance fees (with complimentary freshly-brewed coffee): Students - P80.00 Residents - P100.00 Non-residents - P200.00

Museo Filipino is a great way to brush up on your Philippine History lesson while enjoying a quick snack and a cuppa. I never paid much attention to history when I was in school. Visiting Museo Filipino as a jump off point in your Intramuros visit, makes your tour around the walled city more interesting. Gives you a feeling that you're not going in blind.

If you spend a few days in Manila, this visit is a must. We were delighted with the collection inside the museum going through the long history and strong heritage of the Philippines. After the visit, you can spend a very good time in the cafe next to it. Good food and great atmosphere.

Great history to be learned. I love the way that the museum shows the tribute to the filipino heroes, two columns with their faces and few lines about them. A country cannot forget his heroes. Mabuhay Pilipinas!!!

Museum situated inside the best and most beautiful part of Manila, the old town of Intramuros, with a very nice viewing of Intramuros since the museum is in the 6th floor of one of the tallest buildings in the area. This place make you travel to the past and go over all Manila city history. Very nice pictures and educative explanations that give a complete sight of Manila over its lifetime.

Very patriotic museum!!! Mabuhay Rizal!!!

This is one of the places that you would love to see when you visit Manila. It’s a great museum to know about Philippine history and the Spanish occupation in the country. It’s nicely located near Intramuros and other historical sites in Manila. After a long day and visit to this museum, there’s a hidden gem restaurant cafe located at the rooftop of this century old building! So glad to have this museum as another spot for tourist and locals alike!:)

My husband and I vacationed with my sister, brother-in-law (BIL), and my parents during the Christmas holidays. One of the sites we decided to go to was Intramuros in Manila. I am sure glad we went because it is a beautiful experience. You learn about the country's history through interesting pictures and summaries.

I would recommend coming here if ever in the area. It is a beautiful museum and interesting to learn about Philippine history.

Being located above an office with several people coming in and coming out of the builiding, I was very sceptical at first. Looked like it was a cheap tourist money grab, but once we committed ourselves, we were very happily surprised. I enjoyed readign about the filipino heroes. Mabuhay Pilipinas!!!
