We stayed at a hotel in Chinatown so we got to explore the area. We enjoyed the food and shopping. Unfortunately we arrived swing a Typhoon and many of the stores closed early. The area has plenty of art and restaurants.

Albeit a little pricey, Shinchi Chinatown offers a myriad of Chinese - Japanese food options that are worth trying. The Champon noodles and other stir - fry dishes I tried in a restaurant in Chinatown was of great quality and tasted fabulous! Nonetheless, be warned...More

Not much to do. Skip this unless you are in the vicinity. Couple of lanes of shops selling souvenirs. Wanted to try champon noodles but was not inspired to try after getting there.

Was there on a friday afternoon, and it is quiet. No many shops are open, and this place is small. I won't recommend it, really.

This is a typical Chinatown, though very small. Many restaurants and some impressive gates. It is situated between the main shopping area of Nagasaki and the cruise terminal.

I did not know there is lantern festival host in Nagasaki till I arrive. Even thought the lantern festival is original from Chinese Culture - doesn't make this event less worth visiting. The street and store looks like the scene from movie "Spirit Away" ....More

Great place to visit during Chinese New Year! Lots going on to entertain. Reasonable walk from the cruise terminal and worth the time. Well signposted and many informative historical information points scattered around. Four small temples that you can walk to. Usual selection of restaurants...More

We just passed this chinatown several times on our way through town. It's tiny but has some restaurants and some stores. Nice to have a quick look but there are definitely more intersting chinatowns.
