This is a beautiful complex. You walk from building to building surrounded by gardens and a large lake. I read that it was mentioned in The Tales of Genji. You can imagine how the ruling class onc lived.

the temple is a quite zone. I visited the temple in march 2016 and was a very nice and warm period. not to much tourists around. is very close to the bamboo forest.
