Call me a fish out of water but I never ride this before in my life. Back in my country, this trams only existed in the 50s and 60s when I haven't existed before. The ride is smooth and the coolest in my opinion.

We used the Electric Railway, or tram when we were recently in Hiroshima. Like all the public transport systems in Japan, the tram was clean, reliable, efficient and cheap. We got a day pass for Y600 but single tickets are also available. The tram was...More

If you find yourself in Hiroshima, you should definitely give these a try. There are actually many different types running - I've been told when other cities retire their's, Hiroshima gets them and puts them back into service.

The train is probably the best way to get around while sightseeing in Hiroshima. The train is clean and runs often. Taxis are quite expensive in Japan, so this is a more cost effective way to get around between the sights.

A good way to get around the city, especially from the railway station. Clean, well-run trams (this is Japan and everything runs well). Polite staff. Easy to pay by coins if you don't have a tap on tap off card.

Easy. Get a suicca card, load it and use it on this system (then you don’t have to fiddle with exact fare). Get in on the back, tap your card. Get off on front, tap card. Easy.

This is a favorite means of transport in Hiroshima. Nine streetcar lines connect all parts of the city and the surrounding burroughs. Its a authentic and cheap way of transportation; We took the tramline nr. 1 in the center of the city at Kamiya-cho-higashi (...More

We used the tram from the train station to our hotel and the stop was about 200 metres walk so all good with bags. They are large and efficient and inexpensive so a recommended way to travel the city
