First, they have a misspelling on the monument! Second, it is a very small monument up against a building on a side street. It is very near the ABomb Dome. A must see if you are in the area.

This small monument is harder to find, in a small side street just down from a 7-Eleven and very near to the Atomic Dome. As the city has rebuilt, it is next to a medical center. While it's a simple monument to commemorate the exact...More

I visited all the sites dedicated to the memorial of this important historic event and did not want to leave out the hypocenter if the bomb. Yes Hiroshima is growing, and most likely logistics ended up giving this site nothing more than a plaque... that...More

With the park as the real memorial this understated spot is all that the city needs as a reminder of exactly where the bomb exploded.

It's located on a side street which we happened to bump into whilst checking out a onomomiyaki store with snaking queue. Ground Zero is now a medical center. No one is none the wiser that this is the exact spot where the Atomic Bomb exploded...More

The 'actual' site of detention is marked with an information board, just a short walk from the A-Dome. Definitely worth seeking out so you can look up in to the air (the bomb exploded in the air above this spot) and contemplate this historic event

This small monument is the hypocenter of the atomic blast at Hiroshima. It is on the side of a street and takes a little effort to find it. There is no charge and there are public restrooms about 4 blocks away.

Ground zero is 3min walk from the freedom park. It is just a small plate showing the epicentre of the atomic bomb. You might see a handful of people looking up to the sky where in a couple of hundreds meter the bomb exploded and...More

Can't believe it is not so well marked, but if ever you are in Hiroshima, this is truly worth seeking out. Only a block away from the A-bomb dome anyway - once you're on the other side of the dome (away from the river and...More

Really moving experience and well worth the find. It is a block or so away from the peace park and seems to be in the middle of no where outside a medical centre but this is where it happened. Would recommend for anyone interested in...More

At ground zero it is just a small monument. In a back street. No pictures of people. If you do not want to see pictures of people post bomb I would avoid the Peace Museum in the south portion of the park. Ground zero and... More
