The cenotaph is another memorial in the Peace Park at Hiroshima. Like many other cenotaphs, there is an eternal flame, and within a stone structure are the names of all those known to have perished as a result of the atomic bomb.

Beautiful and thought provoking. There is a hop on/hop off bus which takes you to all the sites. Its only 400 yen and it goes from the station. It's free if you have a JR pass.

Not much to say about the Cenotaph. The picture you see is the picture you can and should take during your visit to the Peace Park.

Through the monument you can see an everlasting flame and further the only building that is left after the bomb. Very impressive.

Looking back towards the A-Bomb dome from the cenotaph is lovely view and underscores how well the Peace Park has been designed.

This is the centerpiece of the peace park, a place to remember the tens of thousands whose lives were cut short on that August day in 1945 when the US dropped the atomic bomb.

Located in Memorial Park and a tribute to the victims of the A-Bomb. Read the plaque and look through the Cenotaph. Located within walking distance of the Museum and other memorials.

The cenotaph lies in the middle of the Peace Memorial Park. It lies in line with the A Bomb Memorial. You can take a picture of the A Bomb Memorial with the Cenotaph framing it. Beyond the Cenotaph is the Museum. It’s at the Cenotaph...More
