We were very underwhelmed with our visit to the Botanical Gardens. There are so many beautiful parks and gardens in Japan an this just didn’t compare to others we’ve been to.

Pretty in May, although we missed most of the cherry blossoms (a few were still blooming). We visited all the small museums, too, which we liked. It's fun to see the schoolkids, old and young, and a few salarymen and artists - just locals hanging...More

Based on what we saw, the gardens must be beautiful in the summer months. Everything was bright green and the cherry blossoms were in full bloom.

These botanic gardens, which include an arboretum, natural woodland, and two small museums, are well worth a visit and make a pleasant morning or afternoon's walk.

A very relaxing garden with beautiful trees surrounding the pond. I notice that there are some koi fishes swimming freely in the pond. Another season of beautiful blooms with vibrant colours.

We spent about two hours here in the morning, an easy walk from our hotel in Sapporo. It was relaxing and enjoyable, with labels on the trees and plants and with a museum that focused largely on animals and birds rather than plants. Some interesting...More

There were not many flowers in the Botanic Garden of Hokkaido University when I visited on 23 May 2017, although the lilacs were supposed to be in season. However, the greenery still made for a pleasant stroll. I was also surprised and pleased to see...More
