If you enjoy Chinese Tea, then this is a must see/go to place. The Tea Ceremony is really nice and you'll get to try quite a few flavoured teas... my favourite was the Dragon Well Tea (Longjing Tea).... which is quite famous and very expensive...More

Was really amazed at the benefit of Longjing Tea and yes there was a 'sales pitch' in a good sense. This tea cannot be bought just anywhere and it was true what we were told that it is only sold in San Franciso and after...More

Unfortunately this was another example of the hard sell and not much information. Placed in a room with our tour group the well practiced spiel and sales pitch is delivered. Just be aware when you go there or give it a complete miss and look...More

National Tea Museum: China is famous all over the world for its tea and the best tea in China comes from the hills surrounding Hangzhou. A 15-minute drive from the city center, you will find the National Tea Museum, located next to a spectacular tea...More

Lovely small museum away from the throngs at the nearby attractions. We enjoyed 90 minutes there, but I'm not sure it would take longer to see unless you wanted to walk in the fields.

We went to the National Tea Museum because there was an opportunity posted on a Hangzhou Expats FB group about a tea-culture day there. This event was sponsored by the West Lake Management Bureau and was free to all those who attended. We first walked...More

Excellent overview of the history and culture of tea in China, professionally and concisely presented and demonstrated. This place kind of brings together the elements of tea, the process and associated rituals. Experience finished-off nicely our visit, which included "helping" local workers to pick the...More

Very interesting. You can see the tea growing outside and there is an excellent display inside showing the history and clear explanations of the tea process. Parking and access is easy but having a guide to go there is even better. We used TCT tours...More

Worth the visit. Beautiful grounds. Good informative exhibits with decent English. Get the free tea tasting and learn about the kinds of tea. If you are really into tea you can spend some money and taste specific varieties in the separate tea rooms. We took...More

I believe there is a fee. I traveled with Shanghai Outing Club. The trip was a hike of the tea plantation and visit to the museum with one fee for the entire trip. Highly recommend the hike.

The bus stop is on the main road; take a left at the exit and head towards Lu Cha. I think we took bus 27 back to the north end of West Lake.
