The three of us, accompanied by an english speaking guide, embarked on the 1st and the most popular 20km stretch of the great baikal trail from Listvyanka to Bolshoy Koty on a nice sunny, windless day in the end of may. (Whilst one does not...More

One leg of the Great Baikal Trail goes from Listvyanka to Bol'shie Koty. Around 22km and a stunning hike especially at this time of the year if ice is around. Accommodation at both ends and you could extend your hike if you have time. Plenty...More

Lake Baikal is absolutely beautiful and there is no better way to see it than walking a section of the Great Baikal Trail. We took the one hydrofoil running a day from Irkutsk to Bolshie Koty. Unfortunately it doesn't go until 12.30, arriving at 2pm....More

Nice trail and views. As soon you reach the lake you must take a swim. We did the walk during good weather, we think that you have to be careful wen rains. Plan go go back on time. Partly though.

This was a brilliant way to see the beauty of Baikal lake without anyone else around. Walking on a nice day in July certainly made this walk more enjoyable! The first couple of hours are quite difficult as it was mostly uphill. We were then...More

You can walk along the lake Baikal as long as you want. I used to hike for several days, but in June 2016 I just walked for one hour, then it started raining, and I turned back.
