Walking towards the cathedral gives an impression of its importance. The outside appears rather different than Russian orthodox cathedrals. However, inside it differs in such way that its beauty reflects the significance of this cathedral and in the time it was built. It is built...More

This Cathedral stands out when you overlook form the other side of the river. It has excellent interior and is very easy to get there by Metro. To go in women need to have their shoulders covered (as in any Orthodox church) but on the...More

Dropped into this cathedral; right next to our Hotel but otherwise a bit out of the way; huge bell outside, monumental structure, beautiful art inside.

Maybe the best attraction of the city. Amazing Church from outside and inside. Too many icons on the inside, you will get lost. If you have the chance, attend a service to experience the greatness of Russian Orthodox Church.

what struck me the most about this Cathedral is its facade - in a bright buttercup, it was really quite different to the other cathedrals we visited on the trip. the iconostasis was particularly impressive.

You must go inside. Very beautiful orthodox church. I stay without words, but I see a lot already. My guide told me about church fundament. Everything is built on oak trunk. Like Venice.

We visited the Cathedral at Easter night. It was crowded. Beautiful songs and church music were making a special atmosphere. The church is not surrounded with tall buildings so it was gorgeous at sunset. The interiors and exteriors are elegantly decorated with elements of Russian...More

This beautiful church is located outside of center, at the "strelka" of both Oka and Volga rivers. Best visited as part of an excursion (you can book a bus excursion there), or with own transport, though - the place is not easily reached with public...More

To understand how important it is to get here - it's the 4th adjustment Orthodox church. The atmosphere inside is mesmerizing. Wants to be as long as possible here. We were impressed by unique and huge altar.
