This was the only place where there was a little bit of FIFA world football fever. Very disappointed with the FIFA coverage in St Petersburg. Like most metro station they seem a bit it intimidating this was quiet the contrary.

While it is very convenient it is not as frequent or as well connected as the Moscow metro. Take the three day unlimited tourist pass that gives all access to bus and metro. Its a great deal.

Easy to navigate and run so often you would be crazy to use anything else. We stayed right near a metro station and it made getting around so easy!

The best way to get around the city. Clean, comfortable, fast, signs and announcements in Russian and English, well-located and well-decorated stations. Got way better in the past few years.

Again, not being from a big city, this was impressive to say the least. Unbelievable marble at the platforms and great mosaics. I think we went down 3 sets of escalators to get to our train. When you were at the top of the escalator,...More

If you are in Saint Petersburg you must take the metro. Especially if you are from a city that has its own metro. Having been on subways in Rome, NYC, Chicago and Toronto it was interesting to compare them. In St. Petersburg the stations are...More

As part of our two day deluxe SPB tour of St. Petersburg, our tour guide, Elza, took us to the St. Petersburg Metro, station Admiralteyskaya, down the deepest escalator(410 ft), even deeper than Rosslyn in the DC Metro. What beautiful mosaics and so clean. Before...More

Get a Metro Tour, it is one of the cheapest and the guide would tell you all about the history of the art/stations, that is priceless!
