We thoroughly enjoyed the museum. My 16 old daughter is studying Soviet History so it was on our list of essential places to visit. Our own guide Alexander, who we hired to show us around SPB for 4 days was exceptionally knowledgeable so it was...More

This place is full of documents, video footage, objects and photos which are all fascinating in themselves, however there was no English translation at all apart from one paragraph in one room and no audioguide available which was disappointing. This was a shame as there...More

This museum offers a lot of information, a lot of it incredibly interesting. Understandably not all of it was translated to English but there is plenty to become engrossed. The only thing I’d say is that I didn’t think it flowed overly well in terms...More

Don't worry, you will not be indoctrinated into Marxist/Leninist philosophy. Nor will you be bored. If you have any interest whatsoever in how Russia was hijacked by the Bolsheviks, and the countless tragedies the Russian people suffered and endured, the Political History is a must....More

Was looking forward to visiting this museum for a long time and it didn’t disappoint. As a lover of Soviet history, just to see the balcony used by Lenin and others would have been enough. Put on any list of must sees in St. Petersburg
