We stopped mostly for the cafe experience but ended up buying a few dozen postcards and Christmas cards. The building is worth seeing from the outside, and the bookshop and cafe are worth a stop in.

Large bookstore in an old building. Good place to find postcards and you can see it right after you get out of the nevsky prospekt station.
