I was surprised to learn that this was the headquarters to the Singer Sewing Machine empire. Its a stunning building - now it houses a fine book shop. Well worth a look.

this magnificent building constructed by the Singer Sewing Machines is impressive but the hight could no surpass the Winter Palace so it creates together with Kazan a great view.

A big book store at the intersection of Nevskiy prospekt. You will immediately see it after getting off the metro station and it is a nice place to look for postcards.
