About
The embalmed body - or possibly a wax likeness - of this notorious 20th-century Russian leader is viewable inside this large stone mausoleum, where a certain decorum for visitors is strictly enforced.

Recommendation: keep at least 1.5hours time as there is always a huge queue. Carry less as there is thorough checking of carry-ons.

Free to enter the mausoleum however the security check line took a while (20min). Entry includes the necropolis of Russian leaders graves as well as the mausoleum itself. Cant take photos inside the mausoleum but everywhere else is ok. Its only open from 10am-1pm on...More

Someone, in the history, made a great history in the world sleeps here. Since My glasses were broken and lost somewhere, I could not see clearly, inside is quite dark. Absolutely worth to visit.

In a way you do feel pity for the old uncle Lenin, not getting any rest since almost a century, always there to entertain some tourists and akwardly guarded by mean looking Russian militia. So tacky as it may be is it still quite the...More

Visiting the Lenin's Mausoleum makes sense since you are into the Russian history or philosophy, it takes a long queu to get in and the visit is very fast, you cannot stop, just walk inside and get out. That's why i've got in about three...More

Wow...Never thought that I would one day be standing in front of Lenin's body. At it happened that fateful day of august. Lenin's mausoleum is on one end of the Kremlin square. And since you will definitely visit the red square, might as well come...More

It took 40 minutes to get to the front of the queue in the freezing cold, I'd have preferred to spend a little more time in there, but it is a historic and atmospheric place and I'm glad I visited.

If you are in Moscow and in Red square the mausoleum is right there. It's free to go in. We were there about 1015 and there was no queue to speak of. Not an everyday experience but intriguing. The whole thing only takes about 20...More

It's a bit surreal, standing inside Lenin's Mausoleum beneath the Kremlin walls, gazing at the embalmed body of this legendary Russian leader. Advanced modern techniques are now employed to preserve the old revolutionary's remains in a supple and lifelike condition. The body will not be...More

Queueing for half an hour when it is -15 and then spending approximately 1 minute in the mausoleum didn't seem to be a good return on the time spent. It is also a bit weird seeing him lying there. Still I guess it is one...More
