I went with my wife to watch the Nutcracker Ballet and the whole experience exceeded expectations. Rather surreal in a retro soviet style but a bargain price for an unbelievable evening. Recommend to give it a try!

This is one of the more modern buildings within the Kremlin. It dates from the 1950s and was used for Communist Party gatherings although it is now a concert hall. Interesting to see but it doesn't compare to the many other outstanding sights in the Kremlin complex like the beautiful cathedrals.

Last year for the New Year Eve I booked a concert in the Kremlin Palace – Italian songs, Strauss waltzes, all sorts of happy-go-lucky stuff :)) Not as posh as the Bolshoi’s ‘Nutcracker’, of course, but not so shamelessly expensive either. Night views of the Kremlin and all attractions nearby as a bonus. Good idea to skip the metro – although it is open longer than usual, if not the whole night – and take a walk through the Alexander Gardens either to the Red Square or in the opposite direction to the Saviour’s Cathedral. Don’t worry, you won’t be alone, lots of people in the street, often with a glass of champagne in hand :)

We admired Swanlake ballet in this theatre. It is a very big but nice theatre in the centre of the Kremlin in Moscow. The performence was excellent.

Great venue, live music but the sparkle was missing. This performance was by graduates of the very famous ballet school, although they were seemingly often accompanied by many who had not yet graduated. Also, it was not much of a team effort - just a wild mix of prima ballerinas all trying to prove themselves. Reality, like the Highlander is that there can be only one.
