We went walking around the esplanade, and my partner who is a planner from New Zealand was very impressed with the layout. Well maintained and clean.

This is part of the city's beautification and urban development plan. This long stretch of lovely promenade runs along Iloilo River almost on both sides. It's ideal for many outdoor activiries such as brisk walking, jogging, aerobics, cycling, or simply enjoying the cool and pleasant breeze especially in early morning and evening. It is also a great place to view the sunset. This promenade is clean, well-organized, and safe. There are also good restaurants at the Boardwalk on one side of it. I would very highly recommend this place to those who want to while their time away in the "city of love." :D
