Walked up to the 2nd level on the falls. It was a relief to be up in the mat with cooler weather. Bats were staying mostly to the trees but we saw lots of them. We used the hot springs and the pool and suggest pool first. Do not suggest the food, but the chicken on a stick seemed to be the better choice.

when we went there, there was the cutest little baby bat hanging out at the entrance of the falls. I was hoping to see the big bats closer, but since we couldn't, getting to pet the baby bat was a nice surprise.

The bat sanctuary is Mambukal Resort, a day use park full of picnicking families. They seldom look up at the HUGE fruit bats in the trees. The bats are toward the rear of the park so could be overlooked, but are worth a journey, They look like large rags hanging in the trees, flying occasionally all day. Their wing span is about 2 feet! A sight to see.

The park is hard to reach without a car. It took us nearly an hour on a very hard seated bus. Well worth it. I'll return!
