Nice place to seek guidance and enlightenment from our beloved God. The place is quite perfect for solemn events like weddings, baptismals and other religious events. I did a lot of pictorials here since I am a photographer. Likewise an iconic and historic place for Bacolod City. Having a very rough ferry ride from Iloilo City to Bacolod, I stopped here and said my prayers.

Located across from the Plaza, it is very easy to locate. Decorations inside are simple, with several statues of saints plus historical plaques.

I went to have a look today because it's the number 1 thing to do in Bacolod. Took me 5 minutes to walk through and take acouple of photos. Yes it's nice but I've seen more amazing churches in Philippines.

What's nice about this church are the hourly Masses offered to parishioners. Should you wish to go early or later in the day, there's a Mass to attend to.
If you get the chance, visit the Adoration chapel at the right side of the church, only a few people know this. The thing is - it's beside a school campus, so you can hear the noise on the other side, which is distracting if you are praying in the chapel.

We drove past the Cathedral on a Sunday morning and I decided to get out and take a look. The extent of the building is stunning. I actually found it more beautiful than any of the Cathedrals in Manila or Cebu I have seen.

Mass was going on and they had the doors open and people lined up listening outside, so I joined the crowd and got to enjoy the angelic voices singing inside. You could see the interior of the church was also quite beautiful.

There is a park across the street from the church that is also a lovely place for a walk. I visited during the Masskara festival, so there were vendor booths everywhere selling food and other goods. It was a wonderful place for a walk and some souvenir shopping

Napadaan lang ako doon kasi galing ako bongbongs, when i entered sa church na amazed talaga ako kasi ang daming nananampalataya sa santo nila, the surroundings are clean and green, masaya lang ako kasi naka visit ako sa church nila. That's it!

It's a church. It has an interesting backstory, but it's nothing special.

If you want to go here as a massgoer, the place isn't airconditioned but seems amply ventilated. The altar doesn't have a crucifix at its center, and the place where you light candles wasn't maintained well.

If you want to be a true-blue tourist, it's not very conducive to picture-taking ala group, but it makes a pretty photo on its own. Some historical bits of it, particularly the old bells, aren't showcased well (cars were even parked next to it). There are rosaries and other church paraphernalia near the gate, though.

My wife's grandparents are interred in the crypt so we went to visit. Being the Philippines, we just walked in and when the caretaker found us he....turned on the lights. Very welcoming and friendly cathedral in the "City of Smiles" (and they are very friendly).

San Sebastian Cathedral is centuries old cathedral in Bacolod. It is walkable from Business Inn hotel where we stayed. It took my friend roughly twenty minutes to reach it to hear the Sunday mass.

This 18th century church built by the Agustinian Recollents is magnificent, to say the least!
This is the 2nd church built by the same order that i have seen in the Philippines, the first one in heart of old Manila.
