What a walk out ( 420m ) on the sometimes near flimsy bamboo & wooden plank boardwalk / jetty , to the observation deck at San Vicente Marine Sanctuary ... as I’m on the heavier size 😉😀 I could feel the bamboo squeak 😬

The San Vicente Marine Sanctuary ... this marine park is located on Olango Island - which is the largest of small island off Mactan Island , off Cebu City 🇵🇭

As again 😉 to get to Olango Island , you can catch a Filipino Pumpboat from Angasil Port , on the far side of Mactan island

From the port you can catch a Tricycle P120 each way ( might have overpaid )

Entrance fees to San Vicente Marine Sanctuary
• Boardwalk Sightseeing - P25 / person
• Swimming - P75 / person
• Snorkelling - P100 / person
• Overnight camping ⛺️ includes boardwalk & swimming - P150 / person

You can hire sightseeing Pumpboats ( around 4 hours ) that will take you to scenic local small islands & rocky outcrops ( will like to do next trip 😉 )

During your interesting walk out ... when not watching where you put your next step 🤣🤣 you have water level scenic panoramic views of the surrounding area , as far as Mactan Island in the near distance ... near shore you have the environmental needed mangroves & further along the boardwalk , you can watch the smaller fish swimming over the sea grass 😁😎 just the walk out is an adventure in itself 🤣🤣

The place is nice! The staffs are accomodating. If you are a group of 10, you'll be paying one hundred each because of the additional environmental fee. I suggest you bring some goggles and gears so that you can swim and watch the fishes under the water and save some money in renting those gears. There are also life jackets provided. And a long walk from the receiving area which might be hard if you are bringing some elderly loved-ones.

You ll found lot of boats with snorkeling but very few for diving. The place is good for snorkeling, but they feed the fishes. For the dive is really good as there is more or less no others divers. The water is really clear and there are nice fishes to see. Nothing really special but a nice dive.

If you are fond of the underwater world, San Vicente Marine Sanctuary is a great place to explore.

The place has improved through the years. The receiving area is beautiful and I love that they used raw and local materials. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I believe you will be charge extra if you are going to take pictures/videos but it is within budget and this will also help the improvement and maintenance of the sanctuary.

There’s always guests especially on weekends, so if you prefer a less crowded visit, then weekdays are perfect and visit early too.

If you’d like to check the reef drop-off the swim out is a bit far so better bring your fins and your swimming gears. You can see a lot of marine life on the reef. From small reef fish to a school of trevally. But be careful though as a lot of island hopping boats park in the drop off area.

This place is unique, and gorgeous!

The iconic bridge is a great place to test your wide angle lens :D
There's lots of little fish around, and taking a snorkel is highly recommended here, you'll see loads of fish around. A nearby sanctuary has a nice viewpoint for birds, a lovely stone bridge and some very helpful staff.

There are coconuts for a drink and some trinkets on sale. Overall, a nice getaway, highly recommended.

Wonderful views of the sea life...

not a fan of the crowded parking lot atmosphere and sales/peddlers disrupting the experience (but we all have to make a living i guess)
