Circle where big christmas tree highten up in the middle with lights up. It’s busy point on the day among chaotic traffic in the city and it’s lighted up with colorful neon during sinulog2023. Its neighbors are departmentstores: robison fuente, robinson cybercity, frenchise restaurants:Chowking, jollibee, orangeK, and many cafe’ and bistros. It’s noisy durto the music to celebrate Santo nino”pit senyors”

fuente osmena circle is a focal landmark in cebu city. it is a rotonda park with a fountain in the center. this circle is often used as a important landmark for travelers who want to go to central cebu. fuente osmena circle is surrounded by main roads leading to osmena blvd, gen maxilom ave. and b. rodriquez st., in which you can find two big robinson malls, fast food restaurants, pharmacies, hotels and pasalubung center. its the center of everything.

Fuente Osmena and Mango Square just nearby are propably most dangerous areas in the Cebu city. Many wendoors,.beggars, thietfs, ladyboys doing monkey businesess. Lot of malls bars, clubs, massage services and fast food restaurants. Keep distance everyone you do not know so well avoid small girls on groups and holding any kind of jewerellyes. Never walk alone at the night time!!!!!

This is the area for adults after nine o'clock. The place would be filled with kids asking for money or food, or hookers seeking your money. You should be aware of it if you have kids.

This place is where an opportunity to watch a lovely sinulog festival is set. surrounded by lots of business establishments that caters a lot of activities like shopping, food trips and many more for street goers and passers by. During my visit was a dry run for the upcoming sinulog festival where all participants gather in their best dress already, even if it not yet the main event. the tourist can have access of watching what soon will gonna happen on the event proper. I am glad to be a part of it and had the chance also visit and explore activity areas of the nearby hotel - The Crown REgency with their On the Top over the edge activities. Super Enjoyed

Most of the Cebuanos will refer to this as the park but actually the name Fuente Osmeña refers to the fountain ("Fuente" is Spanish) in the middle of the park that is named after the late president Sergio Osmeña. It was inaugurated in 1912 in line with the establishment of the city's waterways system.
In the 1970's when the fountain is still fully functional, and when the traffic is not as heavy as now, you will see a lot of couples dating. Some walking around while others would settle on the bench. Some families have their picnics here. You will see children running around playing to their hearts delight. At night, the water gracefully dances with the music and the changing lights. Such a wonderful sight.
It is a hang-out for joggers and Tai Chai enthusiasts to this day. You will see quite a number of them here early in the morning and before sundown.
I saw how the Fuente Osmeña circle has transformed through all those years. Commercial establishments spruced nearby as the city grows and progresses. There were quite a number of renovations already done. But I am happy that the fountain though not fully functional anymore never changed. Only its surroundings. This used to be my playground as we live nearby. It brings back a lot of my childhood memories and I hope that they will forever leave it that as I see it each day I pass by. Because it could only mean one thing... I'm home...

We were billeted in a tower hotel near Fuente Osmena Circle during a seminar in Cebu so my colleagues decided to go to Robinsons located in that area. The Robinsons side of the Circle was very crowded with pedestrians and delivery trucks battling for space in the narrow sidewalk. The Park fronting Robinsons did not look inviting because of the terrible smell and black smoke coming from the diesel-fed engines of the jeepneys dangerously plying along Jones Avenue.
We crossed to the other side using the pedestrian crosswalk above the street. There were several streetchildren, beggars, sidewalk vendors and watch your car boys on that side of the Circle fronting the Rajah Park Hotel. There are also a lot of famous fastfood franchiseos on this side in case you are hungry.
Crossing towards Shamrock Hotel where you can buy the famous Cebu otap, dried mangoes and other pasalubong delicacy, you have to navigate a busy intersection that is again traversed by smoke-belching jeepneys which the authorities turn a blind eye to.
The old Larsian is no longer there. There is a new cybercenter said to be owned by the Robinsons group. According to a security guard, there is a new Larsian somewhere around the corner but we did not explore that area.
With all the pollution in Fuente Osmena, the park is no longer a healthy place to stroll. Since jeepneys are part of the Filipino culture, it will be difficult to get rid of them. however, there is an anti smoke-belching law that has no teeth. Stronger political will from our governing officials is needed.

There are so many vehicles passing round this place everyday; traffic at times is really heavy, especially during peak hours. You can see different events taking place here. Sometimes, you see people jogging or brisk walking around it. There are many food chains, department stores, hospitals and banks around this vicinity. This place can get pretty crowded sometimes.

Nothing to see here. It was probably a central spot for visitors back when it was new, but now it is just run down and dirty. To be honest, I didn't bother trying to risk my life crossing the traffic to take a closer look, but the view from the hotel across the road didn't entice me.

Hi! Is this place safe? We'll be staying in Fuente Osmena area on February 2019. Kinda worried since I've read in Inquirer that Cebu's death toll in gun-related violence reached 250+ by the end of 2018. Is it safe for me and my family to push through with our travel?
Written January 1, 2019
Yes, this place is westernized and safe.
